Re: Songs that bring you to tears!

Was listening to the video of Marc Eric that Nick B posted and noticed another song that Marc wrote for a friend tragically killed last Halloween.  I looked her up and found she was in the music scene in Nashville and a model.  She left behind four young children.

What could be sadder, than loosing your love in a car-accident and you´re only waiting to leave this world to see her again?

Another song of loosing love in a different way:

Rainbow - Catch the Rainbow

...but live´s not a wheel, with chains made of steel...

oh definitely this one.... And "Rainbow Eyes"... i already mentioned this one in my first post...
"She's been gone since yesterday
Oh I didn't care
Never cared for yesterdays
Fancies in the air

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But I've lost my way
She had rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes

Love should be a simple blend
A whispering on the shore
No clever words you can't defend
They lead to never more

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But I've lost my way
She had rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes

Summer nights are colder now
They've taken down the fair
And all the lights have died somehow
Or were they ever there

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But I've lost my way
She had rainbow eyes..."

Sometimes it snows in April- Prince
The Messiah will come again- Gary Moore version

Be my friend - Free
Man of the world - Peter Green's Mac
Still got the blues - Gary Moore
The Prophet - Gary Moore
Empty rooms (live from Stockholm)- G Moore
Dogs - Pink Floyd
I believe in you - Y&T........the list is endless....

Re: Songs that bring you to tears!

Speaking of Pink Floyd...I always found the final section of Shine On You Crazy Diamond to be very moving and, for some reason, sad. Rick Wright was a genious (IMO) in being able to invoke a massive amount of emotion with just a few notes. I believe he was just as important to Floyd's music as were Gilmour's guitars or Roger's lyrics. Unfortunately, he didn't have the ego or the mental strength to combat Roger which, in effect, crushed his confidence and creative output after WYWH.
