Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

This is great.

So will someone confirm when Joe says "chuffed" it means happy, delighted, pleased?  That's what I get from the context but was never sure.....

And does it originate from Britain or maybe Scotland??

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

I think it is a term originating in the UK, my US friends are also blitzed by my term 'shithot' but when they use bloody it sounds like a compliment. lol

like "Pavement" instead of "Sidewalk", "Autumn" instea of "Fall", "taxi" instead of "Cab", "trousers" instead of "pants".
it might not be obvious but it is when i write like "centre" not "center"...

OK, one reason could be historical - ie, historical British involvement in Jordan? - could be wrong though smile

Yes Totally right, we've been captured by them, got our independance in 1946, so our English books have some British terms, but not as many as back in the days...

Re: What makes you laugh/smile ?

The people working in the bakeries must have been amused. thinking back to my son and daughters first birthdays, it should have read "Throw it in the Floor" because that's where most of it ended up anyway. lol I like the very last one, a seriously engineered insult.
