Topic: An almost Perfect day.

Hey folks sorry its been a while since i last posted, ive been a bit busy but i thought i would post a bit of an update. Last week i almost had the perfect day, it was tuesday i think. My GCSE results had arrived at work and to my surprise they were better than i had expected. For those of you interrested i got 6 A*'s 2 A's and 2 B's so that put me in a really great mood. When i arrived home my brother had received his new big TV and sound system for his room so that was great as i was able to play Joe's DVD through that.

The reason however that it was "almost" a perfect day is because unfortunately my copy of Sloe Gin didnt arrive. I am now a proud owner of Sloe Gin and im already amazed, i think to me this is Joe's best album since Blues Deluxe. Sloe Gin the song is obviously fantastic and i am also very impressed with Ballpeen Hammer, seagul and another kind of Love. Finally jelly roll, what a fantastic wee song, it is definately one of my favourites to listen to. The rest of the songs are great aswell, those are just the ones that stood out at first impression.

Finally in guitarist this month in the album reviews Sloe Gin got 4 stars so congratulations Joe big_smile

Hope all are well,

Regards,
Matt

Wow Matt those are some great grades, you must be very proud.  Congratulations!

Like you, I was disappointed when Sloe Gin didn't arrive through my letterbox last week but having played it through at least four times now it was certainly worth the wait and can't wait to hear more live - maybe at Paradiso in October.  Hope to see you and your dad at another gig soon - bring the rest of the family next time!

Re: An almost Perfect day.

Congrats Matt!!! If you're going to work hard it's nice to get results like that! Your brother's new system is just screaming for a new Joe DVD. Until then, keep enjoying "Sloe Gin" and have a smile or two..........Cathy

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: An almost Perfect day.

Hey "Einstein", if you keep up the good work maybe you can study Physics where Albert Einstein studied, Princeton University.  They love foreign students and recently accepted "Harry Potter" himself.  You may be interested in this book that recently came out, my Physics minded teen enjoyed it, he is in his first year of college as a Physics major.

Re: An almost Perfect day.

Thank you all for the kind words big_smile, I agree with you Roy an education is definately a good thing to have, especially when your not as good a guitarist as Joe.

Actually it's funny you should mention that Angela as Physics is what I'm thinking of studying at university. I'd never thought of going abroad to university however, I'd always imagined studying at Queens in Belfast but now that you mention it i could be a possibility. I'l also have to look into that book, there's no denying that Einstein is a fairly important character when it comes to Physics big_smile

Thanks again,
Matt

Well done Matt. Now get back to the serious business of playing the guitar smile

Hi Matt,
I am pretty good at reading minds, but I wasn't reading yours. roll  You  mentioned in another post your interest in studying Physics at the University level. Princeton University is only 25 minutes from me, but a little far for you, Belfast looks like a good plan.  My parents have visited beautiful Ireland, my grandfather was from Donegal.

Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to commend Patty on her correct spelling of "definitely" - a word which is almost always spelled creatively and atrociously wrong on most internet message boards.
