Topic: Sloe Gin my first listening......

I recieved my limited edition digipack copy this afternoon when i got home from work and i stuck it on straight away and all i can say is wow i didnt even want to open it out of the shrink wrap it looked so nice. I think its one of his best albums my favourites already are dirt in my pocket, sloe gin and black knight. Joe congradulations ever since i saw ya in holmfirth all ive listened to is you and you get better with every listen to your music.

Sloe Gin oh yes 10 / 10!

I had my first listening, too... and just can agree... it's outstanding... a record of a grown up artist... wondergul guitar playing, sounds and arrangements... A1 songs performed great....   :-)

I loved it instantly...

Yes your totally right pit his voice is maturing well and so is his guitar playing

Quite frankly i love him lol he's awesome!

I cant wait to see him live again

Ball Peen Hammer    8 love the change halfway thru( 8 and a half after 3 plays)
One of These Days    8 Sounds like Robin Trower at his best…maybe a 9 on third play (9 on 3rd play)
Seagull    7     Great Vocals    OK Song nice acoustics. This could definitely be a grower after more plays
Dirt in my pocket    8     Jon Bovi type song reminds me  wanted dead or alive..Love this cowboy stuff love the acoustic interlude..lives experiences are giving him more soul in his voice. Potential to go 9 after more plays
Sloe Gin    9    Classic Rock at its best..beutifully Sung. Guitar Solo that makes u shout yeeeeeeeeeees Just a great song
Another Kinda Love    7    Standard Blues Song
Around the Bend    7     Nice song bit country flavour, would like a bit more harmonica in this at the end, (nearly an 8 third play)
Black night 8    Cool song  This is growing on me fast another one heading to a 9
Jelly Roll    8     Great beat Played just as it should be
Richmond    8    Nice Song Love the  Led Zep acoustic  feel at times (love this after 3 plays 8 and a half)
India    6 Different/interesting
To sum up. After 2 plays
Great album        Solid performance        No 10 out of 10 song yet but no weak ones
I cant be critical of Joe so 11/10

BTW... today I have compared both "Around the Bend" version with each other...
...well I can't say that the first one is soooooo baaaaad as Joe himself says...   ;-)
