Topic: Northwoods Blues Fest

Great Fest in northern Wisconsin.
Howard "Guitar" Luedtke and Blue Max will open the second annual Northwoods Blues Festival. Also on Saturday 5/25 will be Reverend Raven and the Chain Smokin' Alter Boys, with special guest Westside Andy. Chris Beard and Joe Louis Walker will finish the day. Sunday 5/26 will feature The Rhythm Roosters, Mojo Lemon, Kenny Neal and Ana Popovic

Hey sniff, this is one I wasn't aware of! The Heartwood Center is only about 10 miles from Webb Lake, which is where Renee's family's cabin is and where we likely will be since it will be Memorial Day weekend. It's a nice location - we cross country skied on the trails there about 10 years ago when it was the Schwann Center. Pretty decent lineup, too. We'll definitely keep it in mind!

Bit far to go for a week-end out for a Brit, but have friends with a cabin up in Iron River WI - I'll see if I can get them talked into dropping by.

Been lucky enough to visit that region several times, though not recently. Lovely part of the world you have there - even if the coyotes do keep you awake and the deer ticks bite like *&%$*&$s.

There's also the Boulder Junction Blues Breakdown Festival in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin to be held on Saturday July 13, 2013.

The lineup is:

The Lately
The Tallan Noble Latz Band
Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo
The Sena Ehrhardt Band
The Nick Moss Band

Plus, there will be a beer tent band to play during the main stage band's set up and that band is called The Dirty Knots. Admission price is $20 per person in advance and $25 the day of the Festival.
