Re: Sloe Gin
Joe certainly is a guitar player's guitar player!!!! He gives hope for the future to many of the "ancients" here, including me. You really should start a new thread under Introductions so you can meet more Bonamaniacs...Cathy

Hey Hawaii6er...on top of all THAT, Joe Bonamassa makes it look SO easy and SO fun, all at the same time!
Rock On & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
What is amazing to me about Joe's style is that he does a lot of little things that are really technical and challenging in a broad array of musical styles, but yet makes it very lyrical and melodic and full of emotion. He combines sort of old school rock and blues together so well and creates a lot of really memorable riffs and songs - an original and really great style - something that is hard to find these days. On top of that, he shares lots of stuff for free via his website, personally responds to folks, and seems like a very cool person overall.
It's in my my computer.
It's in my ipod.
It's in my head.
It's amazing.
It's addicting.
It's Joe, Carmine, Rick & Bogie.Susan
Well I guess you downloaded it 'coz I don't see it in your cd/dvd player!!!!
I just my copy 48 hours ago and I think that it's a fantastic album. There seems to be an extra depth and emotional content to the songs....and they all work together to make a 'complete' work. I've never failed to be impressed with Joe's output, either live or recorded but I think that with Sloe Gin, Joe is taking his music to a whole new level. I can't stop playing it......and I've had seven seperate customers ask me for info on Joe today while I've been playing the CD at the store. I think we're witnessing the birth of a future 'Classic Album'.
Well it's official, sloe gin just got blasted out of my garage. Working on the cars, hit the replay button 3 times, hope the neighbors didnt mind.......not that I really care what they think. Guess I torture them once more, gotta sweep the grass off the concrete. .....hey are we gonna get any shirts that will fit "Tyson" ( my dog ) he really likes Joes music......never mind he just got "a time out"
Shred
Hey Shred...Van Horn here from Oakley...
Is Tyson a dog or a bag of battered chicken?
Sorry I havn't got back to ya...Amazon or our USPS lemme down but I finally got it and took a listen...and than another listen. Tell me YOU havn't gone to Richmond! I have to believe he was singin about VA or NY...Joe and I discussed NY briefly in SLO he being from Utica and I from Rochester.
Anyway, if ya have any leftover promotional stuff drop me a line and I'll try to recover some of it. I need to drop by Guitar Center(yuck)but I'll be in that Pacheco area so may be we can meet and make the drop...
The album is pretty cool...but I do miss the kickass JB blues lix, mixolydian with a touch of jazz fingerings and the powerhouse energy that he so delivers.
This album should bag him some radio play though as some of these songs are worthy as are most of Joes stuff.
Still shootin to have my band ready by Halloween...currently doing Lie #1, Takin the Hit, Don't Burn That Bridge, Mountain Time(slower version) and Stone Cold Hearted(Bloodline)
Anyway...hope to see ya soon
See ya in SF C23,25,27
