Re: RIP SRV

I saw Stevie on Feb 24th 1983 @ a club called The Metro right behind Fenway parks Green Monster. Stood about 2 feet from him in the front row ,it was my birthday and I won the tickets off WBCN . I was more into AC/DC and other heavy metal bands , but was blown away and became an instant fan. I took my best friend who's a huge Hendrix fan and knew more about Stevie than I did. We still talk about it all the time as it was the only time either of us got to see him . For this and all the great music and memories I'm forever grateful      R.I.P. Stevie   Paul/JBrules

We felt it was too late to drive down there so we passed the tickets up - next
day we heard the news.  If I could have one day of my life back this might be it.
I did however get a Tee shirt from the concert.

Alping Valley - to make it easy, you could just sent it to Roy along with his, as I will be
seeing him in a couple weeks.

Re: RIP SRV

Joe - I think Roy is all talk and no show - I told him to wear red shoes to Shank Hall so I'd know who he was and he chickened out.  LOL  Jaci

Jacque,

I was all set with the spiked red shoes and hot pants, but "you know who" made me take them off. I wonder if she's jealous of my muscular hairy legs? I think I'll have to make that a topic for discussion at tonight's dinner table. I've got to get to the bottom of this!

Roy - I think you're in trouble with Dawn either way!

Re: RIP SRV

I saw his last show at Alpine. I had 10th row cneter. His last Jam on Earth was Sweet Home Chicago with Buddy Guy, Clapton, and Robert Cray. Probably the best night of my life and the next day was one of the saddest. I remember how foggy it was that night and I did not get out of the Alpine parking lot until 1:30am. When I got home I passed out with my radio on low volume and remember waking up around 6am with a voice on the radio talking about the helicopter crash. I thought I was having a nightmare. I will never forget that experience and I get chills thinking about it. I am so greatful that I had tickets for that show, Alpine Vally is my favorite outdoor venue and If SRV had to have a last place to play I am glad it was there.
