Thanks for the full list Mr Smith. How could I forget ANDY! Doh! This is definitely one of those songs where another version (Joe's in this case, of course) is better than the original. smile

Totally agree with you even though I always loved Tull. big_smile

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Here's what Joe played yesterday:

The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Twist Of The Knife
The Meters - Cabbage Alley
Albert Collins - Caldonia
Matt Schofield - Can't Put You Down
Cream - Cats Squirrel
Free - Catch A Train
ZZ Top - Certified Blues
Gregg Allman - Checking On My Baby
Rod Stewart - Cindy's Lament
James Cotton - Come Back Baby
Leo Kottke - Coolidge Rising
Genesis - Cinema Show

Nice hearing the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Albert Collins, and of course Free. I'd never heard Matt Schofield before, but he's a great player.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Here's Joe's set from today's Planet rock show. It was a repeat from February, but still great:

Mountain - Never In My Life
James Hunter - Don't Do Me No Favours
Led Zeppelin - Rock & Roll
Alexis Korner - Rain Is Such A Lonesome Sound
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Guinnevere
ZZ Top - Goin' Down To Mexico
Robben Ford - My Love Will Never Die
Steve Earle - Molly O
The Allman Brothers Band - One Way Out
Eric Clapton - Bad Love
Gov't Mule - Mule

Nice to hear a Mountain song other than Mississippi Queen. Robben Ford is awesome as well!!

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

John Hiatt is a great singer!! Love hearing Otis Rush & Rod Stewart as well.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Here's the set from Joe's radio show today:

Gregg Allman - I Can't Be Satisfied
Savoy Brown - I Can't Get Next To You Babe
Chuck Berry - Sweet Little Sixteen
Warren Haynes - Take A Bullet
Iron Maiden - Space Truckin'
Eric Johnson - Love Or Confusion
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)
Free - The Stealer
James Gang - Midnight Man
John Hiatt - Adios To California
Joe Lynn Turner - No Salvation
Bob Marley & The Wailers - No Woman, No Cry (Live)

I'm gonna have to listen to John Hiatt more, he's a great artist. Always great hearing Free, and the Iron maiden version of Space Truckin' is pretty cool.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Tonight's show was a repeat from last year, but it was still pretty good. Here's the songs that were played:

ZZ Top - Waitin' For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago
John Lee Hooker & Bonnie Raitt - I'm In The Mood
Jeff Beck - Beck's Bolero
James Brown - Mother Popcorn
Led Zeppelin - No Quarter
The Black Crowes - Thorn In My Pride
Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy
Little Feat - Dixie Chicken
Black Country Communion - Medusa
B.B. King - Please Accept My Love
Joe Bonamassa - From The Valley

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Here's today's playlist:

Led Zeppelin - Dazed & Confused
Harry Connick Jr. - Yes We Can Can
The Faces - Too Bad
The Yardbirds - I'm A Man
Gary Moore - Texas Strut
Jethro Tull - Living In The Past
Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine
Mason Ruffner - Ain't Nothin' But Trouble
James Hunter - Don't Do Me No Favours
B.B. King - Into The Night
Aretha Franklin - Ain't No Way
Eric Clapton - If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day

I didn't realize it was Jeff Beck singing lead on I'm A Man, he's pretty good. Also, Ain't No Sunshine was the live version from Carnegie Hall, great sound on that one. Mason Ruffner & James Hunter are also great artists. Hope someone else posts in here soon. Seems like it's only me posting the last few weeks.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Yeah, that was was great as well, but it's not exactly a christmas song.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Joe's show was a repeat from Jan. 8 today, but it was still a good show. Here's what was played:

Masters Of Reality - Time To Burn
ZZ Top - Prettyhead
Ray Charles - Sinner's Prayer
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - Dust My Blues
Jeff Beck - Earthquake
Cream - I Feel Free
Crosby, Stills, & Nash - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
Rod Stewart - Mandolin Wind
James Gang - Funk #49
Muddy Waters - She's Alright
Yes - Starship Trooper

I thought this week was gonna be a year in review show, but I guess I was mistaken. Still good though. Maybe next week will be the year in review show.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Was a fantastic track. Ordered the album it's on, Texas Sugar, from Amazon.
Boy, Joe's show is a drain on my bank account :-)

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Great show tonight!! I saw Jim Suhler this past February opening for Johnny Winter at the Granada Theater in Dallas. Terrific show!! Roy Buchanan, Gary Moore, & CHris Cain are great as well.

Re: Joe's show on Planet rock

Here's what Joe played on the show last night:

Joe Satriani - Satch Boogie
Tom Petty - It's Good To Be King
Dr. Feelgood - Boom Boom
Jeff Beck - Going Down
Joe Cocker - Feelin' Alright
Al Kooper - The 59th St. Bridge Song
The Meters - Art
Deep Purple - High Ball Shooter
Sonny Landreth & John Hiatt - Levee Town
Otis Rush - You Know My Love
Albert King - Don't Burn Down The Bridge
ZZ Top - Just Got Back From Baby's

Jeff's version of Going Down smokes!! And it's always great hearing the great Otis Rush!!  And it's good hearing a Deep Purple track other than Smoke On The Water that the classic rock songs play to death.
