I like them both- its almost like they're different songs entirely... both of them are awesome!

Like them both, But love the live version especially the intro is just great.
Really gets you and won't let you go until the song is finished.
One of my favorites during a show.

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

both versions are good, but only one passes the litmus test of greatness.  i could live without hearing the studio version again, couldnt live without hearing the live version again.  like comparing a good little league game to the mlb world series if you ask me.  i hope mountain time never leaves his setlist, as far as translation of studio to live song, that is my favorite ever, by anybody. have a good one.

I love the live version of Mountain Time and the original version of Around The Bend.

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

I love both versions, totally different songs, the original is a great road trip song.

By far the LIVE version....It is always worth the price of admission for me...Intro really gets the audience into it...

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

Love the live vesion. Only listened to the studio version once. Didn't care for it.

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

I have to go with the Live version as well.  One of the most moving songs that Joe's does live...

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

Gotta go with the live version too !!!!!  LG

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

Love the live one, have seen many times and never get tired of seeing Joe play it again and again!

Love, Peace, Beatles and JOE!!!

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

I like the live version, it's fun to jam on, but if I'm going to play that song for people, I'll play the studio version. It's just more uptempo.

Re: Anyone prefer the SILT version of "Mountain Time"?

The album version on SILT is pretty good, but for me the live version always brings me near to tears, the emotion that Joe can put into that intro, which you'll notice has evolved over the last year, with a more eastern influence, almost sitar like effect, through vibrato alone - most imprssive, then the main body of the song, then the beautiful closing solo. Makes me blub nearly every time I hear it. Don't ever remove it from the setlist Joe, change it, as you have done so far, but never remove it - it sums up your extraordinary ability to take a song and make it your own!!!!

I love the live version of the song, but I also like the album version. I would like to see Joe play the album version live sometime.
