Topic: The combos in Joe's rig...

I am assuming that they are there for 'sit in' guests, or as a backup?

This shot was posted on TGP from the Montgomery show.  Speculation is that the tweed combo is a Victoria or perhaps a Lazy J?

Interested if anyone knows more info that can chime in.  I don't know much about the Victoria amps - keen to find out more.

The tweed looks like it could be a Fender 57 Twin RI.  The loudest 40 watts you'll ever hear and if it's good enough for Clapton then Joe is in good company.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Re: The combos in Joe's rig...

The tweed is the Eric Clapton Twinolux.

Victoria Golden Melody.... He used it when i saw him with Los Lobos at the Lobero in Santa Barbara. I got to hang with JB and he said it just sits under his TV

Re: The combos in Joe's rig...

When I saw him in St Louis last month he had a Victoria amp on stage with him. Not sure of the model. It was a two tone tolex. Brown & tan. I think he only used it for the Chuck Berry tunes.

Re: The combos in Joe's rig...

Had them at the Orlando show last night as well.  His rig sounded awesome.
