Is that the ticket you paid so much for? Truly worth every penny.

Yeah, 5 years ago today. A very memorable night and I was one of the lucky ticket "winners". Will never forget it.

I would have paid ten times that...the dvd has made it crystal clear. A truly special concert all round.
Here in the Philippines I downloaded the full 1080P version and took it to my favorite bar. Plugged it in to the video system and started watching it. One by one customers gathered around and the volume got louder and louder. Didn't take but a few songs before the whole bar was yelling and singing along. You KNOW it's an awesome video when everyone is yelling at the half naked girls dancing on the bar to "get out of the way".
Man it felt like high school again. I will order the BluRay and have a friend bring it over. I heard a Jason Bonham interview and he said when it was over he just didn't want to leave the stage because he knew it would never happen again. You can see it in his eyes at the end of the movie.
For those interested you can download an HD version (flac format) of the show

I finally got my first viewing of the blu-ray last night in it's entirety, since my daughter brought it for my Xmas present. Wow, I thought they did a spectacular job with most all of the songs, especially Robert changing his vocal range to accomodate what he could do on each one. He gave a thanks up front to Ahmet for suggesting they bring in Jason, and I thought he was superb all around. I don't know if Jimmy still smokes ciggies or not, doesn't matter, but he was chomping that chewing gum 90 miles an hour on the first few songs. He looked very spent towards the end of the show and I thought he "coasted" a bit. He gave it every thing anyone could have asked, and then some. In My Time of Dying was brilliant, and the big Gibson ES looking guitar was to die for, couldn't take my eyes off it. Anyway, other favs were Ramble On, No Quarter, Nobodys Fault But Mine, Kashmir, and Whole Lotta Love. Rock 'n Roll was blistered although not one of my fav Zep songs. Bottom line, it's great but they could not have pulled it off without Jason. I know daddy was looking down and smiling that night.
This is one of the best Christmas presents I have received in recent years. Thanks Jess!
A superb interview on PBS was aired at midnight today on the Charlie Rose show, IMO the best interviewer around. He really gets them going with some in-depth probing questions about the high times, their interactions at the time, the reunion show and what they're doing now. I hope you all can view this. There should be a podcast on the Charlie Rose link on PBS later or on youtube. This is the interview of LZ we all wanted. Recorded before the Kennedy Center show.

Celebration Day is making it's television debut tonight at 8:00pm eastern on the HD channel AXS.tv, I believe this channel was formerly known as HDNet. Great station we've caught several great concerts on there, Steve Winwood and Tedeschi & Trucks are a couple that are taking up a chunk on disc space on the dvr because I can't bear to delete Check your local listings, channel 340 on DirectTV.
