A great talent
Who knows what could have been

Re: Tommy Bolin

totally agree he was up there in status with the great koss

Re: Tommy Bolin

Those two in particularly affect me in what could have been achieved - yes, Hendrix..okay...but these guys just get to my soul way before the afro-left-hander.

The solo album 'Teaser' is one of the truly great records that are out there...and destroys Come Taste The Band etc.

I know he had some serious problems...but flaws are what make us...and he clearly had something special (those Blackmore fans were highly unkind to him to begin with).

Check this magical song out - and wow some fantastic GH vocals at the end there!

I can listen to that song any time, anywhere...
To think Bolin and Koss both died at 25 and could put that soul into playing like they did...something I will NEVER understand. Incredibly sad. Casualties...but the material they leave behind is wondrous for sure.

R.I.P Tommy

Spectrum album with Billy Cobham playing " STRATUS" still one of the best...

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

For sure smile Monstrous guitar playing on that track...I do believe also that there is a vid of Joe B doing it on youtube somewhere...:) smile

Totally agree with Dave on Kossoff too...it sure takes some soul to achieve that vibrato he had on 13 gauge strings!! Stunning guitarist, one of the true 'tone is in the hands' players...

Re: Tommy Bolin

I love Tommy Bolin,  wish I had the chance to see him live, but I did see the next best thing, I was at the Baked Potato when Joe played Stratus!

Re: Tommy Bolin

Remembering him today.

Re: Tommy Bolin

Tommy was very gifted and still missed by me to this day.  Spectrum was a top album of the 70's.
