Topic: Opinions on the JCM 2000 TSL601 Combo

So I've been looking around at used amps and I keep thinking my heart belongs to Marshall amps.  Anyway I think I want a JCM 2000 TSL601.  such as this one http://hickory.craigslist.org/msg/3353215171.html What do you think is a fair price for one of these used?  Also is there any bad things I need to know about these amps that would make me want to avoid them?  Thank you much!  AD3

Seems an alright price to me, these are phenomenally underrated amps in my opinion. Love my TSL I've had since they were released, huge range of great Marshall tones and bulletproof.

Build quality of them is terrible. Some useable sounds. Good price.

Canadian prices are always higher so $350 for the one you're looking is probably a good price

here is the Canadian $650

So would you guys consider this an upgrade from a modified Blues Jr Fender amp?  The one on Craigslist is not the one I'm watching there is another one that is cheaper that I think I could pickup for $275-$300 but the foot switch is missing.

Or is this a better amp? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marshall-JTM-60 … RTM1240446

Re: Opinions on the JCM 2000 TSL601 Combo

Personally would take a JCM 2000 DSL over JCM 2000 TSL everytime (no idea about the new series of DSL's) & I also quite like the JTM 30 & 60's too but they're very different to the TSL you started at.

Re: Opinions on the JCM 2000 TSL601 Combo

Well the Ebay Sale that had the TSL is over I decided not to go for it.  I was basically looking at the TSL because it was cheaper then the DSL.  I guess there is a reason for that.  Hey Dave that 5150 in your names is that because your just VH fan or do you have a 5150?  I'm still dreaming of buying my buddy's 5150 peavey verson 1.  I'm thinking in April If I don't buy a combo first, of offering the guy $1000 for it.  He's asking $1,700 but it also comes with a Wolfgang Special which I'm not crazy about a Purple guitar so I wouldn't want that anyway.  I've heard people say the clean sucks, but the overdrive sounds like a Soldano SLO.  Anybody have any truth to that?
