Played it last night at the Fort Wayne show

Re: JB's new (old) SG

that's awesome. What song(s?) did he use it on?

Logan

Re: JB's new (old) SG

He said he bought it at a Pawn shop down the road from the theater. White SG Special , wrap tail & P-90's played Young Man Blues.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

really cool. I love my '65 SG Junior!

Re: JB's new (old) SG

I was going to guess he played Young Man Blues. That guitar screams Pete Townshend.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

He must've had a change of heart..

"Im really not a fan of SGs in general... They are thin sounding to me..  You can disprove what I just said by listening to Derek Trucks, Frank Marino and Frank Zappa..  I just can't get on with them,.. Its the one guitar out of the fine line of Gibson products I don't own.. and please don't come back and say do you owe a Firebird x LOL...  No I don't own one of those either... so I guess its 2....."

Re: JB's new (old) SG

Sweet vindication!

Just kidding, to each their own wink Love SG's

Me playing Joe's actual Ibanez Tubescreamer pedal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76jk58_vl2s

Re: JB's new (old) SG

It was Young Man's Blues.  It sounded great!

That's only half the guitar he normally uses on YMB lol

Re: JB's new (old) SG

Sounded Amazing.  This was my first Joe B show. I know he is known for his Silver Jubilee but it appeared to me that we had a backline of older Marshall stuff and not his usual rig. Anyone get a closer look ?  The cabs for instance looked like something he brought out of the collection.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

I approve! big_smile

Gibson Custom Joe Bonamassa Ltd Signature Les Paul VOS # 31

Re: JB's new (old) SG

A Very Cool Guitar Indeed...Vintage always sound better than the VOS Reissues....Those P-90's will  melt the paint off the walls...:)

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: JB's new (old) SG

The best part about this is that he buys a guitar from a pawn shop and hours later he's playing it on stage in front of a few thousand people. That cool!

Good eyes. He has changed his rig. There is a topic called "Joe's New Rig" that explains what he's got on the road.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

Don't forget Clapton with Cream, Iommi with Sabbath, and Angus Young. All have fantastic TONE with an SG.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

That leaves just the Firebird X!

Re: JB's new (old) SG

All I saw were the Marshalls. But, rumor has it that Joe is coming out with a signature series amp.  My friend and I talked about how he might have that one tucked in behind somewhere. Only 3 of the amps were lit up.

Re: JB's new (old) SG

Looks like the new Pete Townshed Signature model that Gibson released earlier this year.  Always been a fan of SG's but only in my favorite flavor cherry red.
