Yeah, the funny thing is that the two games I gave the most thought were the ones I lost on...maybe I should just continue with the "knee jerk" pick method, lol. I'll take 12-2 anytime.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

My biggest mistake is I keep betting on your team to be upset! I still believe someone will upset the Bears sooner or later, but, given that they are impressively strong and still seem to improve every week, a chance I won't take anymore.  STRONG playoff contenders amongst those who think they are in my book!

Could be their name, which couldn't be more degrading to Native Americans.

I don't find the name to be degrading, even when Native Americans were asked about 90% believe the name is acceptable and inoffensive but I don't own the team so I have no control over that.

Actually I have a friend out here who is from Baltimore, but a huge Skins fan. I've been teasing her over an internet article regarding a local DC newspaper refusing to call them Redskins any longer. they said they would simply refer to them as the "Pigskins". The issue of Native American names being used by sports teams pops up every few years usually producing no results. Stanford University caved in to the pressure years ago, 1972, and changed their name from Indians to The Cardinal (their school color, not the bird). I'm a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan and saw them and the Atlanta Braves picketed by Native American groups when they were in the World Series in 1995. The names Indians, Braves, Warriors, & Chiefs strike me as paying homage, but I have to admit that Redskins sounds more like a slur to me. Being that they are the nation's capitals team I doubt anything will come of it, not much does in that town, LOL! BTW, after a bit of research, the issue has been to the Supreme Court in 2009 with the ruling favoring the team....obviously.

Hey, welcome brother in suffering. Watching the Skins last weekend was like poking toothpicks into your eyes at regular intervals. 'Awful' doesn't even come close, despite RG3 being superb again. Unfortunately, not even he can play offensive line, WR, QB and secondary all by himself. sad

Indy at Jax - Colts surprised me last week, they probably will again.

NYG at Cin - Giants must be able to squeak this one.
Ten at Mia - I keep going for the Fins.
Det at Minn - Vikings to bounce back.
Buff at NE - Agreed, lock of the week.
Atl at NO - This one could be very close, I'll stay with the only unbeaten team
SD at TB - Home advantage coin toss
Den at Car - Peyton.
Oak at Bal - Even injury riddled, Ravens should be too good.
NYJ at Sea - Seahawks look like another good thing at home.
Dal at Phi - The two teams I dislike most...hmmm....ok, I want the Eagles to lose even more than the old enemy. tongue
Stl at SF - Home lock.
Hou at Chi - Sticking with da Bears .

KC at Pit - Steelers improving, sadly

Re: The NFL - National Football League

My Raiders got spanked today.

I think it was the worse of game of their season.  So much for hiring a Defensive Head Coach roll

Okay, GM McKenzie.  I can't wait to see how this one is gonna play out at the end of the season.
For me, this all hangs on McKenzie.  Oh, the coach you fired is the one who brought in Carson Palmer.  The only one who is keeping this team from being at the bottom of the division. And this isn't even his type of system.

What have you brought in GM McKenzie?  That's right, that great zone-blocking that really opened up the Raiders offense, because everyone knows that the Offense was the no. 1 problem of the Raiders last year mad

And Dennis Allen, who keeps saying the same garbage week after week. Like this garbage "Quote of the Day"

Later in the quarter, Koch ran 7 yards for a touchdown on a fake field goal to cap a 74-yard drive.

"It's our job to go out there and stop them," Allen said after being asked if he was bothered by the play, which came with Baltimore already up by 24.

Well, then Coach Allen, I guess you ain't doing your job.  You just said so with that lame Quote.

You a Former Linebacker McKenzie. Coach Allen was part of the Texas A &M Wrecking Crew Defense.
The only thing that you 2 need to be talking about is our defense and special teams.  You fired our good special teams coach too.  Funny how McKenzie ain't saying a word.  Couldn't stop him from talking before the season began.

Huff, you drop the interception that was in your hands? LOL, you guys made this team so bad, that Carson stepped up and said screw this West Coast offense, let me throw it down the field.  I give you big props for doing that Carson.  I know you were trying your hardest to get a win.  You have been all season, trying your hardest.

Really, these coaches need to desperately work on the Defense and Special teams.  You have Huff changing from Safety to DB.  That is about as bad as you can get. Horrendous tackling.  Only thing I want to hear from Coach Allen is, "How are you going to stop them".

I just don't get it, for being part of the Wrecking Crew defense, I see no fire in you Coach Allen.  And it looks like it is translating to the defense.  No fire, except in a couple of players.

You can get a better defense out of the Raider Stands.  Come on Down, Darth Raider!
