Topic: J.D. Simo

Recently discovered this man, J.D. Simo and he's one of the best I have ever heard. Simply amazing, and he seems that he captured the sound I want to have quite well! He seems to be one of the most active guitar-cats in Nashville at the moment and is a standard with the Don Kelley Band. Oh How I wish I could go to Nashville!

Saw J.D. about a year ago in Nashville and he was very good.  I think I posted about him here then.

I saw JD in Tulsa at a blues festival about 10 years ago. He was doing a blues rock thing. Seemed influenced by Joe B. I liked him a lot. I followed his career for a year or so hoping to see him again but then he took off for Nashvegas and of my radar screen.

He recently signed with a new agency and is trying to do his own thing which is bluesy and doing dates. Hoping to bring him to OKC in the near future. He has an album with his band coming out soon.

JD is crazy good. One of my favorite cats out there. If Free got back together my vote would be for him to fill Kossoff's shoes. I don't say that lightly. He's that good.

Good to hear that he's venturing out and doing his own thing.  Don Kelley is a better than average Country singer, but will never rise further.  Simo and the rhythm section are in a different league however.  I bought their cd  mainly to hear the "chickin' pickin'" which is exquisite.

Awesome, thanks for posting, JD has 2 dates in Kentucky in late January, Newport & Louisville both about 90 minutes away for us, winter weather permitting we will hopeuflly make it to one of them smile

Just got the first cd by SIMO the band from Amazon in the mail today. It is one smoking psychadelic/blues/rock guitar showcase. Worth picking up if you like your blues to ROCK!!!!

Saw him two years ago with the Don Kelley Band in Nashville. I heard him play when I passed by Robert's Bar. Walked in and was treated to the best version of 'Ramblin' Man' I've ever heard.
I'm not familiar with his solo stuff but will give his album a listen.
