Topic: Swanee

John Swan is a close friend of mine and a real Australian star of the 70's and 80's, a singer of the real Paul Rodgers school of Bluesy singing!! John was also the favourite to join AC/DC after Bon Scott's death and he had ironically replaced Bon in his previous band Fraternity.

I feel he has never received the full recognition he deserves internationally, so here's me doing my little bit and sharing some of his music with the world.

If I were a Carpenter (His biggest hit)

He's Gonna Step On You Again (as lead singer of Australian supergroup 'The Party Boys' which at one point featured Joe Walsh)

Lady What's Your Name (a real ballad but his vocals are sublime, a massive hit in AUS!)

With brother Jimmy Barnes Recording What Will They Say

No probs Don! Thanks for checking it out!

He's also called the 'Voice of Rock' over here in AUS so if someone calls Glenn Hughes that over here it causes confusion hahaha!

Re: Swanee

But yeah he's a great guy! And I've heard Jimmy is of a very similar nature.

Re: Swanee

Thanks for the links.  I enjoyed them very much.  Always good for me to learn another piece of rock history.  John seems cool and I give him lots of credit for letting you sit in on Sweet Home Alabama.  You nailed it too.
