WOW.... what a beauty and rare gem! Wonder how much this guitar will fetch????? Thanks for sharing.
What's the deal with the joint in the center?
Looks exactly like John McEnroe's lefty 59 LP
Paul McCartney might snap this one up!
I read where if McEnroe put his guitar up on the auction block that because 59's are so rare and left handed anything is more rare that it would go for $400,000. Given this was 2 or 3 year ago before the housing economy collapsed.
Hendrix could play left and right handed
Wonder how Joe would do playing left?
They made a lot less Left handed Guitars than Right handed ones....could bring some serious money to the right buyer.
From what I read in the article there were only 4 lefties made, 3 of which still exist and this is one of them.
It also said that this is the guitar that McEnroe posed with on the cover of Guitar Afficionado
Then is this not McEnroe's? I have that one and all they talked about was how rare it was and that it is estimated worth $400,000 and that he bought it in a time where Left handed guitars for the 50's were not popular.
The lefty '59 sold for $194,500
