Topic: New 'Dumble' style pedal from Quinn Amps

Quinn amps have just introduced the 'Hot Buttered Scotch' pedal, which is purported to give you Dumble-y tones from your amp.

I was lucky enough to get on their prototype pre-order list and got my pedal a couple of weeks ago.

It certainly gives you that nice, warm, fat overdrive with some smooth roundness.  I did a quick (and sloppy) demo with my Telecaster plugged into my Axe-FX, using a clean Dr. Z MAZ38 model.

But, hey now that Joe is eschewing 'D' style amps in his rig, I expect to see a flood of second hand 'D' style pedals and amps hit eBay... lol

you think Joe really will do away with the VW's and TR's?  Maybe he is just downsizing the whole deal...  guess we should see updates on that soon.

It does sound good and I do really think there's some mojo in all this "D" style pedals smile I don't think they are too close to the real thing, but are good variety in the drive's stable.

Quinn amps are whole different story and would love to try one in person - but I don't think there is an EU dealer.

On another point, following all the hype, I built a kit D style overdrive, supposed to be close to Zendrive and with a few tweaks it sounds great (to me at least).

Thanks. It is really not that difficult to be honest smile
That's a tad off, but my younger 2 months old girl makes sure there's no sleep for daddy - so I got few more kits on the way (haven't soldered anything on a PCB for 20 years - it is such fun - plus the debugging and the tweaking ) .... for things I always wanted to try ...
