Topic: Favorite Joe songs

The post about favorite songs from Sloe Gin got me to thinking (which is usually very dangerous). There were some posts there about the irrelevancy of actually picking favorite songs, since they're all so good. I understand that concept, since my favorite Joe song changes fairly frequently. I could never generate a list that says "So Many Roads" is my 14th favorite song or (even harder), "xxxx" is my least favorite Joe song. However, I do have a GROUP of songs that I would call favorites.
Does anyone have an absolute favorite Joe song? An absolute least favorite?

Re: Favorite Joe songs

This one's easy.
Favorite: Takin' the Hit
Least favorite(tie): Asking Around for You, I Don't Live Anywhere
Danny

Re: Favorite Joe songs

Absolute favorite would be Junction 61/Reconsider Baby (I look at these as one song).

Of course, there are relative favorites depending on day of the week and what kind of mood I'm in. big_smile

I'm just saying.

Danny,
That's the thing about taste. Your two least favorite songs would be in my group of most favorites. Nice pick for your favorite though!
I could list 15 songs (at least) that have been my favorite at one time or another:
The two noted above, Blues Deluxe, Reconsider Baby, I Know Where I Belong, A New Day Yesterday, Color & Shape, The River, Unbroken, Pain & Sorrow, Walk in My Shadow, Wild About You, If Heartaches were Nickels, Woke Up Dreaming, High Water Everywhere, So Many Roads, Tea for One. I anticipate a few more from Sloe Gin.

Re: Favorite Joe songs

absolute favorite is so many roads.  this holds a special significance for me as prior to hearing it i had only a mild interest in blues and blues rock.  now it has become my favorite type of music, directly as a result of the chance hearing of this song.  also from just a normal perspective i love the riff, the solos, think it is some of his best singing, and his best cover.

other favorites include asking around for you(studio), mountain time live, junction 61/reconsider baby, and the river.

note that i havent gotten sloe gin in the mail yet

I might keep you satisfied

Re: Favorite Joe songs

As soon as you have had your "Sloe Gin" first listen thru, your old favorites may have to take a rest.  I love "So many Roads" and it is currently right after "Sloe Gin" in my i-pod! If you can, experience this new CD with headphones...Whoa!......Cathy

Re: Favorite Joe songs

Funny that was asked to me by my Bonamassa buddy at work, who by the way is going to his first Joe shows with me. He's nuts about "Blues Deluxe", I shook my head as to say good choice. I look at him and say " you do remember the slide intro for ' the river ' on the Rockpalast dvd, that is one memory that is burned in my brain. But you havent heard 'sloe gin', you might change your mind"
