Topic: Sloe Gin is gonna put Joe over the top.

This is the record I've been waiting for since Blues Deluxe! I'm halfway through my first listen, but it's clearly Joe's finest. I see this becoming somewhat mainstream.

Re: Sloe Gin is gonna put Joe over the top.

I got a call today from a friend in her car to say that XM's Rock equivalent to Bluesville had played a Joe song. (She didn't know which one it was..) We'll take it!! Rock/ Blues..they all have the same parents.... I agree that this will be crossing all boundries..Cathy

Re: Sloe Gin is gonna put Joe over the top.

this is a great cd . but i don't think it's  gonna put joe over the top . i feel he is gonna stay where he is for now there is nothing on this cd that the corporate pigs will play . you might hear it on the blues stations on xm but mainstream radio you aren't gonna hear this cd they will not play any hardcore blues stuff unless eric clapton is playing it . so for now we are gonna have to push this cd all by ourself's . deep down i hope they would play it but what we think is great music the radio pigs think sucks and thats how it goes . what we have to do to get this thing on the radio is the labor day weekend is coming up most radio station take request's when you call in or e-mail in so if you hear the station that you listen to are doing requests then you post it up on the forum here with the telephone number and the e-mail address and that way everyone on here can call and e-mail them like crazy and maybe they might play something or if they don't they sure will wonder who joe bonamassa is and maybe there will be some jock out there that will listen to joes music and have the balls to start to play him on the air .well thats my 2 cent's ...........joe

Dirt In My Pocket has potential. Again, Joe will do it grassroots style, and when it happens, it will explode.

With the right single released to radio, this one has the potential to be huge.

Cathy,
I heard "Traveling South" on XM's "Deep Tracks" (which is primarily rock) on Friday.

There are some (a few) open minded stations/programs in the UK;  Radio 2 ,which for our friends over the pond is a national station. Most play chart dross and are in need of education. However, Joe has had some good air time on the the Bob Harris Radio 2 show but...'more is better'. Does it serve any real purpose though to refer to our radio DJ 'friends' as 'pigs'. If you want bees then spread some honey.....if you want flies then spread some s**t. I think bees are far better wink

i have radio friends also and there still pigs they have to take orders so you spread as much honey as you want because you know what happens that honey goes bad and turns to sh*t so you are back where you started . over in your neck of the world radio might be  alittle bit different then over here . where you are they seem to be a little more open to new music as for our stations i can pretty much tell you what they are gonna play everyday because it's the same stuff over and over again . thats why we don't waste time spreading honey to the pigs . pigs like sh*t there the only animal that rolls around in there own sh*t and likes it ..............................joe
