Not with A Rod ridin' the pine and flirtin' with skirts in the stands. Of course he's never done much in the post season other than that anyways. I think Jeter goin' down let the air outta their balloon.

Ha ha ha... yeah, A Rod sure looked happy in warm-ups yesterday before the game... guess he can't screw it up if he is ridin' the pine and checkin' out his next future-Ex-Wife!!!! Jeter goin' down definitely was the straw that broke the camel's back though.

It's always a beatiful thing when they play Tony's hit I Left My Heart In San Francisco after the game ends because that means the Giants won. You don't hear it after a loss, it's our victory song. The fans love it and sing along. I wait until its done playing and it makes getting towards the exit a little less congested. An AT&T tradition.

I got a bad feeling that song's going to be on repeat.  Giants beat the team that owned my Cards this year and who I thought would win the series this year.  Whatever team wins the series gets my backing against the American League although I'm secretly pulling for Detroit.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I've been in a time warp since that Nat's loss last Friday - was it? I have never in my entire sports watching career experienced anything like that, and I was literally in shock.

I'd decided that I was going to support the Cards the rest of the way because they're the team that little boy in Kentucky with terminal cancer supports - sadly, though mercifully, Lane's suffering came to an end about an hour ago, and I now again could care less who wins, as long as it ain't them damn Yankees - which looks pretty unlikely considering that they're 3-0 down and all their big guns have been consistently failing, especially that utter **** of a man, A-rod. It couldn't be happening to a better guy! big_smile

Verlander has been beyond awesome, and although I would prefer to see a NL team win, I reckon the Tigers could pull this off now.

RIP Iron Man

Amen. He went into second base hard, but he never left the base path. It's up to the fielder to avoid the slide.

Holliday is not a dirty player...BUT!....his slide was wrong....he will get a fastball in the behind next year, just because....Scutaro better be able to play in the next game or the Giants will do what they have to do sooner than later....some of the so called "unwritten rules" of the game seam stupid at times, but that's how the players police their own

Now lets all pray for my beloved Yankees, ya know you want to tongue

Shred - I have to agree with you... I don't think Holliday meant it to be a dirty play or to inflict harm on Scutaro, however it was a little out of control or reckless to go that hard. With that being said, I think it was a legal play but could have been handled differently even in the heat of the playoffs. I respect Holliday playing hard, as a die hard CARDS fan, but could have hurt Scutaro or hell even himself for that matter. Besides that, it just wasn't smart... it fired up a rally by the Giants!!!

I actually would like to see a Yankees vs Cards WS!!!!! I think you know who I would want to win that series though!!!!! Hee Hee!

Cheers, Jason

It's all good Jason, Holliday showed alot of class when the players were introduced before the game, he waved to Scutaro as if he was OK....Scutaro was running with no ill effects on that double, of course 2 tic tacs before the game always helps (vicodin).....3 hour rain delay sad .....I hear Lincecum may pitch next for the Giants roll

The fat lady is warming up....what this, A-Frod is checking her out lol ....what a frickin loser, I used to think the guy got labeled wrong, NO WAY .....will someone please take off $112 million off the Yanks hands, hell we will pay 50% of it....whatta ya say big_smile

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

was just watching the Atlanta Sportszone radio show which is broadcast live on cable. They were talking about what if we had a chance to get him, how much would the Yanks agree to eat. 50% ain't gonna cut it, how about 80%? Even with that number the Braves could only offer him 3 or 4 years, with some incentives I suppose. He could be good for 20 homers and maybe 70 to 80 RBI's per year, but how long? I swear to God, if they go after him and pay too much I will officially unBrave myself, permanent separation. A lot of baggage comes with him, another downside.

The Yanks will unload him at a cost of 80 mil.  The best he could command at 37 is one year 5 million.

Right now it is sunny and a bit cool.... think the weather will be just fine for today! Could do without another rain delay, that is for sure. I always hate, for both sides, to lose momentum in the game. Good luck to both clubs and can't wait to see how Game 4 rolls! Cheers!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Today's game is pivotal.  A must win for the Giants as they can't dig themselves in to a 3-1 hole.  I was unsure about Mike Matheny when he was named skipper.  Thought it was only to keep his buddy Pujols, but it has turned out to be a great move by the Cardinal organization.

5.  The Cards magic number.

Still worried about those Giants though.  They won three in a row against baseball's best team last week and the Redbirds have to stay in the moment.

Giants picked a helluva time for a team batting slump. Got another shot at keepin' it alive tonight. It ain't over till it's over! It was a mad house @ the fave sports bar downtown last night, 26 big screens, half on the Niners, half on the Giants, and everybody rooting for both.
