Unfortunately, it looks like they had to abort the mission for today due to wind and other technical difficulties. Not sure when they can try again. Thanks Cathy for the heads up!
just read the whole article, and must say that I don't like his chances. seems pretty insane to me. They will try again tomorrow or Thurs.
Sound of body.... OMG, next up a twenty mile bungee?
Rick
A crazy 'mission' when the conditions do become right.
The promo vid .... Hmmm..... too 'glossy' & 'Hollywood' for my taste.
The reality, i guess is somewhat different.
I wish him luck - I hope he doesn't burn up in the re-entry.
Looks like they're going to try again today, looking at a window beginning at around 10:00 AM Mountain Time. Same link:

When I was in jump school in the Army they told us 2 things fall from the sky, bird sh*t and a$$holes.
I see it's going to be covered on the Discovery Channel as well. Let's hope all goes well. Cathy
Watching live right now. About to jump from 24 miles.
WOW, he just landed, safe and sound.
I think this song just about sums up the last couple of hours

Supersonic Man.
WOW, that was amazing! Not sure if he actually broke the sound barrier, but still an amazing accomplishment!
Watched and was totally amazed. What a feat! I wonder how many were watching.
Rick
There were over 6 million watching on youtube alone. SO impressed and grateful it was a success. According to them he did break the sound barrier, but I guess we wait for results. Ironic that it is the anniversary of Chuck Yeager's sound barrier breaking flight. Ain't science a blast Cathy

I was watching the speed indicator during the descent and saw 729. That would be above the sound barrier at sea level. I'm sure the world took a deep breath and sigh of relief when he stabilized and the 'chute opened. We were on the edge of our seats!
We're hearing 834mph...if so, utterly incredible. Absolutely phenomenal skill to get out of that mad spin that could have ended it...

I'm reading 833.9 mph, Mach 1.24, and yes seeing him tumbling seemingly out of control had me worried, but his recovery was nothing short of remarkable!
WOW, congrats to Felix ! Just watched the whole thing -
There's no substitute for experience is there, otherwise the outcome could have been a disaster.
