I was thrilled to see that the O's eventually took the game last night, and I very much hope that they can finish the job tonight. ESPN showed the O's-Yanks head-to-head stats for this year - they're almost identical in every respect, including games won, so tonight will truly be the season's 'decider' between the two of them.

Verlander looked awesome - again.

If Gio can start without nerves tonight and impose himself early on, and if our guys can finally find their bats, then we're in with a shout. Our guys will certainly be on more of a roll than the Cards, whose fans are seriously upset by their performance yesterday.

What teams like Oakland's current "almost" and others such as the also recent San Diego Padres are showing me, do not know if I am alone on this,...spending a lot of money, or making the best of what you got...I HONESTLY think the time has come in pro sports basically, and baseball specifically for this topic, to slice down ALL prices, and watch the real hungry ones rewrite things...honestly, baseball is not America's pastime by any means anymore...but it could make a hella comeback!  Thank's A's! smile. Hope survives yet, and love of game too... cool



Bay Area residents hopes of a repeat of 1989 are a tad disappointed, but the earth shook a little there this year nevertheless.   GO GIANTS!

Just ask if you would like me to do a little dance to bring on an Orioles-Nationals showdown...yes, complete with a Nationals win (is this possible? naysayers bleat!).  Aww heck, I might do it anyway.  A Geo gaffable baalgame belongs in the Capitoll (building), a GeoGraphical Championship ballgame on a field designed for same seems appropriate, a la my restore the national pastime past post...C what hoppings...

You could almost hear a collective sigh of relief coming from the executive offices of The Fox Network & TBS since the Yankees are still alive for the ALCS. From a strictly TV ratings point of view Fox would like nothing better than an East Coast/West Coast matchup in the Series. The ratings bonanza would be SF vs. NY, the original subway series gone bi-coastal. Still wait and see time though with the StL/DC game comin' right up and who knows who may prevail in each CS.

Wow! I don't even know what to say after what just happened in DC. My condolences G Dawg, that was cruel and unusual punishment the Cardinals just inflicted upon the Nats & their fans. Rallying back down to their last strike twice, just when you think you've seen it all in this sport it blows your mind again. Ya gotta remember, the Redbirds are the reigning World Champs and played like it tonight. Game 1 with them Sunday out here.

Can't change the spelling after Dawg copied it.  After getting behind six runs I thought it was over.  After the top of the 6th still down three runs I went to bed.  Forgot last year's miracle endings could be duplicated.  Congrats to Washington on a great season and hope they figure out how to use their ace for next year.

Gdawg....where are you?.....man I really feel for all the Nats fans, what a 9th inning....looks like that side job on Sunday just got cancelled, baseball is my favorite sport by far, so bring on the Cards (congrats Rhonda smile).....yeah I took a lot of doo doo before the Yanks won, but I get to smile a little today....these 2 series will be monsters, dont miss it wink

Congrats to Curby & Rhonda and Cardinal fans!!  You have to BELIEVE in magic after watching that game!!  Honestly, I couldn't stop thinking about Tug McGraw RIP as the Cardinals chipped their way back into the game. Ya' Gotta Believe!!

The Nationals totally teased their fans with the way the game started, they were tasting it!

George, I'm beginning to think that the best record in baseball is the kiss of death...2 years in a row...and the Phillies record last year was better than the Nats! Your team will be good for a while, so there is always next year. wink

Another wild finish! These are some of the most exciting playoff games I can recall. Tough break(no pun intended) for the Yanks losing Jeter for the rest of the post season. Needless to say, the Bay Area is buzzing over the NLCS starting @ 5pm tonight. G Dawg, I know you're in a "sports funk", but we'd love to hear from ya and who ya like the rest of the way. I sent this post yesterday morning when I woke up around two am and realized my son wasn't home.  I sent him a text then and another an hour and a half later.  Woke up my wife and she called and texted him.  We never heard back.  He works late at his job, but he always lets us know where he is and what he's doing.  To make a long story short he went out to a  co-worker friend's house on my city's westside and fell asleep.  After they brought him back (he left his car at the cinema where he works) he feel asleep driving and hit a concrete abutment.  This happened on a busy four lane road and on a steep incline.  Miraculously his car didn't rollover and his airbag prevented injury.  His car may be totaled, but we're grateful he's ok.
