Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I am not a Yankees fan, in fact I despise the organization as a whole. But I love the individual players if that makes any sense. Benching A-Rod for Ibanez was a calculated and gutsy move. I missed the tying homer but got to see the walkoff, love the post season drama. I don't think he will forget last night any time soon.

Let's Go A's!!!! Another unbeliveable walk-off in Oakland last night. These guys don't care about best records, triple crown winners, or a Cy Young pitcher, it all looks like a bone to a junkyard dog! Too bad for all you East coasters that probably went to bed after the NY/BALT game, you missed the best game of the post season.

I was pretty much thinking in the 8th inning that their crazy season was coming to a close.......Whoa, Not just yet.

Another interesting stat. No team, since the 1944 Cardinals, have entered the post season with as many rookies picthers than the A's this season.

Tonight will be another tough one....Let's Go Oakland.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I'm really enjoying this year's post season. So many comebacks since I can't remember when. No matter who are winners or losers, this is some great baseball being played! I'm sure glad I live on the left coast so the late games aren't so late.  big_smile

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Agree, Rick! Despite my obvious disappointment at how the Nats have played so far - all three starters failing, bats failing - there has indeed been loads of good and exciting stuff to see. The comebacks of the Giants, and especially the A's, have been pretty spectacular. Big time players stepping up when it matters! cool

I went to bed with the O's 2-1 up heading to the 9th last night. To say I was gutted by the result I saw today is an understatement. sad

Giants still 0-0 in the 4th, I'd like to see them win, if only for Brother Dawg's sake. wink

Don't think the Birds will win today.  Home plate ump has dialated the strike zone for Nats pitchers.  Other than that great game.

Gracias G Dawg, as you know by now SF won thanks to Buster Posey's grand slam and it's off to the NLCS. Catchin' my breath before the A's get after it @ 6:30pm. It's hard to work around this madness, but I've managed so far.

Let's not get too carried away with the A's "comeback" talk.  Last night was just "normal" Valverde al la 2012.  I could get hits against him . . . so could you all.

Oh my God!!! big_smile cool

Our batters still didn't turn up, but one good swipe was always going to win this game, which was no more than our magnificent bullpen deserved, despite the generous strike zone. wink

Got to catch my breath....yeah Jdawg, I saw your game today and your boys so totally deserved to win the series, and they did 'win' it. Lookin' forward to playing you. tongue

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I miss Raul, I always liked his mannerism, he also seems very humble. I remember when he first came on board with the Phils he was on fire, rumors buzzed he was doing steroids, he was very offended. It brought me great pleasure to see A-Rod benched for Raul! wink

Anyway, what is it with my x-Phillies hitting walk off home runs in the playoffs???  I'd like to see Thome do it next, another gentleman.

As feared, seems as though Zoolander was just too much for the Oakland tonight. What a ride though....Truely a season to remember for any A's fan. I hope the fans that are at the game give those guys a HUGE ovation after this game.

Good luck with your teams ya'll.

Nationals seem to have settled down and their pitching yesterday was stellar.  Cards won't go down without a fight, but Wainwright will have to play his best.

Hoping for about a 15-18 inning game with every arm used up by the end and the Cards takin' it since the Giants have more ownage on StL. Sorry G Dawg, but none of us SF fans wanna deal with your pesky Nat's. Should be an intense game from the first pitch.

I'm wishing for the Nats to win....they played the Giants real tough from what I recall, even a thumpin in there I believe....but the Cards wii do just fine also

Bring it on!
