Re: The NFL - National Football League
Not a great pick week with the Colts as the major shock. The Skins had the lead for most of the game, then RG3 went off with his concussion.....

One rookie mistake was the difference in putting the Saints away. It was pointed out by an expert that the penalty was most likely due to Brees being barely 6' tall and not intent to injure. That sternum hit to most was just a tad high and the helmet skidded up his chest. A 14 point swing, they would not have come back from down 17. AFC West showdown next week with the Broncos coming to town. Hopefully they'll sell enough tickets to avoid the blackout in Chargertown.
Rick
My 49ers are looking good again....I'm hoping for a division title and a nice playoff run....one game at a time Shreddy
very sad to hear this, Alex was a one of a kind and who will ever forget Blazing Saddles. Was it Mongo, or something like that?

"...Mongo no know, Mongo just a pawn, in game of life".
What a beast of a player! Sad.

This is really hysterical, as long as you don't mind some choice language!

In other good news, the Skins have cut that useless Cund-iff.
The Washington Redskins have signed former UCLA kicker Kai Forbath, who beat out veterans Olindo Mare and Josh Brown in a tryout Tuesday, according to a person with knowledge of the Redskins decision.
An All-American and winner of the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award in 2009, Forbath was signed by Dallas after he went undrafted in 2011, but spent the year on injured reserve.
Forbath tweeted: “Couldn’t be more excited to join Redskins nation! #HTTR”

RG3 better learn to hit the deck or it's going to be a short career. Somebody tell him he's not a running back.
Rick
Yes, RGIII should play smarter, but be is part halfback hence he greatness. So far Luck is outplaying him cause he's got Reggie Wayne.
OMG that is so funny G on the twitter stuff, still LMAO, thanks. Did anybody catch the ESPN Gameday Sunday morning? They had Joe Walsh on the set, he and Chris Berman chatted a little and he played a few tunes by himself, no less than 4 different guitars. I still hate his voice, getting worse as the years go by.

I think I called Cundiff getting cut somewhere under this topic...not that it took any special insight. There's that famous quote about NFL standing for Not for Long...if you're not performing.
BTW, I see the bears won 41-3 on Sunday.
They also did something NEVER done before in the NFL:
Two teammates scoring defensive touchdowns two games in a row.
Nice work by the Chicago D, Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs.
OK, I have one guaranteed pick this week:
The Bears will not lose. Here are the others:
Pittsburgh
Cleveland (yes, Cleveland)
NY Jets
Tampa Bay
Atlanta
Baltimore
Detroit
Miami
NE
Arizona
Minnesota (I think this one will be close)
SF
GB (their backs are against the wall)
San Diego
Steelers tonight
Dolphins (cause it's at their house)
Ravens
Eagles
Bengals (Cleveland is bad...again)
Colts
Bucks
Falcons
Patriots
Card's
49'ers
Vikings
Texans
Bronco's
PITT
BALT
MIA
PHIL
CLEV - Ohio!
JETS
TB
ATL
NE
ARIZ
WASH
NYG
HOU
SD
PIT at TEN – Have to go with Pitt despite intense dislike
OAK at ATL – Lock of the week across the board, watch Oakland win :-(
CIN at CLE – Cincy gets the edge
STL at MIA – One of these weeks I'll get the Fins right
IND at NYJ – Luck the second lock?
DET at PHI – They'll win despite Vick, alas
KC at TB – Home advantage
DAL at BAL – May not be easy, but can't see the Ravens failing
BUF at ARI – Arizona to bounce back
NE at SEA – Seattle would be a big upset, can't see it
NYG at SF – Close, going for home advantage
MIN at WSH – I know we can't stop their offense but I'm hoping for a miracle
GB at HOU – 6-0 is possible
DEN at SD – Peyton should prevail
Most of the day with the mechanic trying to figure out an intermittent "check engine" light. "ok, go drive 30 miles and see if it is fixed" and gas at near $5. One more lap and I get the checkered flag I hope!
I'll pick Pittsburgh and fill in the rest later.

I'll take the other side. And the rest of mine set later too.

Nice pick Rick, I love a Steeler loss anytime, one man gathers what another man spills. Oxygen sensors are usually the culprit when I get the check engine warning on my Ford Ranger P/U.
