Nice to see Albert King and Paul Butterfield's names on the list. Interesting as well that the Induction Ceremony is being held @ The Nokia Theater in LA this time around instead of NYC.

yeah this has been a long time coming, and I wouldn't blame them if they dissed the whole thing. Also glad to see Butterfield, and Procul Harum on the list. At least Robin Trower could get in this way, is he not already in as a solo artist? I honestly don't know.

as an alltime Rush fan I agree totally. I wish they would not even show up for the award, but they are much too nice to do that and know their fans want to see them accept it. very good to see Albert get in as well, what took so long on him too?

In a lot of ways the HOF is a big crock of crap, but regardless of anyone's opinion of who they pick, how they vote, etc, it is still an honor regardless. Rush has been deserving for a while, as has Kiss (not my favorite band, but have made a significant contribution to R&R nonetheless). I find it interesting that in the past couple of years a lot of stink has been made by the fact that they weren't nominated, that maybe the nominators are listening to the public now.
And btw, I am biased because Rush is my all time favorite group.

you are right on both John, it is a huge crock and yet it is an honor no matter how long it took. it's funny, son and I have a goodly amount of Kiss CDs, but I hated them growing up. Not so much any more. I tend to waffle on "all time favorite", based on what have you done for me lately. Clockwork Angels vaulted them back into my #1 spot, great CD imo.

let's go another round for this year. I agree it's total BS but still worth some discussion. First nomination ever for Linda Ronstadt, she needs to be there. I'm wishy washy on Hall & Oates but OK whatever. Kiss and Deep Purple keep trying, they should already be there. Peter Gabriel is very deserving imo. I say NO to Nirvana in their first year nomination.
