Re: Brisbane, Australia - Oct 3rd 2012

Yep, I it was the same setlist http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/joe-bonam … dc7a6.html  Was the snippet after Woke-Up Dreaming a shout out to Tommy Emmanuel fans to close the acoustic set?
Before Woke-Up Dreaming Joe said that it was at this point that he broke the stool in the last couple of shows.  Said he was nervous thinking he needed to lose more weight??!!

Joe, Carmine, Rick and Tal were stunningly tight.  They were in exceptional form.  Some of my favourite photos were seeing Tal peering round the cymbals all eyes on Joe.  Carmine was grooving and Rick was too cool.  Joe's dynamics and touch were out of this world.

Come back again next year Joe, you can make it 3 for 3.  We won't argue big_smile

Great pic!!! It was great to meet you both - Joe delivered as usual!

Looking forward to tomorrow's show in Sydney at The State. Row 5, a lot closer than I was at the show at The Enmore Theatre last year.  Great to hear Carmine, Rick and Tal are still there in the touring band. Quality players.

Peace, out. Peter.

Row 5?  Nice.  I got row 3 for Melbourne last year and this year row 8 despite being online bang on opening time.  Never mind looking forward to next Thursday engouraged by the great reviews I've been reading of the Asian and now Brisbane shows.

Yep, haven't got a seat that close to the stage since getting row 4 centre for the Neil Young and Crazy Horse show way back in 1985, which is showing my age a bit!

Great reviews of the current leg of Joe's tour is very encouraging. Always looking to forward to hearing the new material live and wondering what's in the set and what's not. With an ever expanding catalogue, all killer songs, it must be hard to decide what to leave out of the set.

Peace, out. Peter.

Re: Brisbane, Australia - Oct 3rd 2012

Well I've got it to look forward to.  Mate of mine in Sydney went online for tix about 2 hours after they were released and got FRONT ROW.  I was soooooo dark on him.  Will be seeing Joe for 3 out of 3 in Melbourne and have taken all my siblings now but cannot get my wife to come!  We have about 10 of us in 2 groups going so will be a big night.  Meeting at The Espy (where they record RocKwiz) beforehand along with half the audience I imagine.   Nice 'chatting Aqualung' - check out my Melb. review next Thursday night.

I think Joe's next album needs to be a compilation of his fave heavy tunes from the 80s! What fun!

LIVE MUSIC IS BEST

Re: Brisbane, Australia - Oct 3rd 2012

Absolutely!  Then it might be one album that I can play along with: power chords and pentatonic riffs, just stay away from the two-handed tapping ;-)

Re: Brisbane, Australia - Oct 3rd 2012

Thanks to all for your posts. When tours start we fans become starved for reviews. It's easy to use the words, pics and films to revisit our own show memories. I can't wait for more news from Oz.    Cathy
