Topic: Greeting from Bangkok - My first post!!

Greeting from Bangkok!

My name is Ryn (pronounced as Rin).

I have been JB's fan for around (almost 4 years) now) and lurking around this forum for quite sometime where I have learned lots so far. I would like to thank you to everyone I have already learned from!

After a conversation regarding The Ballad of John Henry's tuning with my best mate, I looked up this forum and decided I would enjoy participating in the meaningful conversations that go on here. So here I am! (I literally am excited!)

I don't know where to start about following JB's music. I grew up listening to the Beatles, Eric Clapton and Nirvana (yes, you read it right). Then I became a fan of Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman. I used to stick with the classic, old school stuffs and I would listen EC and RG religiously whole day. I was introduced to mighty JB music by my best mate and JB music has been blowing my mind away since.

A bit about me - A twenty-something hyper-active woman who is interested in many things e.g. Music, Politics, Cosmetics and Football (some of you call it Soccer). Grew up in Bangkok and lived somewhere else for sometimes. I do also play guitar (a Les Paul lover here!)

I went to see JB's concert Live in Bangkok last week and I was very honoured to meet him and his guitar tech. They were very nice and the concert was superb as well.

Anyway, I am looking forward for the future dialogs here! Thanks for reading and good luck to all of you!

All the best,

Ryn.

Hi Ryn, nice to meet you and a big welcome to the Forum, where we all have a chance to express our love of Joe.  Fabulous you just saw him in concert.  Nothing like it, right?  Enjoy the good folks around here.

Thank you! Joe has a group of fans here and I am sure there will be more people following his music. As of now, I have managed to convinced 4 friends to listen to his music and they LOVE it!
Well, it's my little achievement! smile

Thank you. Yes, it is supremely fabulous to see him playing in concert. Got a chance to meet him in Meet & Greet as well. It's just couldn't be better! I already like this forum more (and more). This is funny as I just realised that I should have joined earlier!

Hi, this baby is Les Paul Reissue 1959 VOS belongs to my very close friend.
In the day of Joe's concert in Bangkok, I was informed that I would meet Joe.
I was in hurry and didn't have any chance to bring Les Paul that I play regularly.
So I brought my friend, who introduced Joe's music to my life, and his guitar with.
Joe signed on pickguard and on the neck (I reckon that since he has Joe's autograph on R9's neck - I'd probably nick the pickguard ha ha). Anyway I will ask my friend to post on this forum.
His excessive obsession of gears & rig. It should be fun!

Hi, Thanks! You'd hate me, if I tell you I am a Chelsea fan. (A long time fan even before Abramovich came). Anyway nice job kicking QPR's arses!

I'll just reply to this here, then we can continue any further football talk in the other topic.

You're right, normally speaking most fans react with some repulsion to anyone who claims to be a Chelsea fan, on the (not unreasonable) assumption that they're more likely than not recent fans, especially when they're quite young! wink

So, you became a fan when you were a very young girl, since the Russian has been there at least ten years now (not sure what year). I'll confess to you that as a Hammer, and someone who lived in London for many years, I've always disliked Chelsea. Some Hammers hate Spurs the most, some Arsenal, some Chelsea - of our 'big' traditional 'enemies'. I have always had that with Chelsea.  All Hammers hate Millwall the most. big_smile

But we are perfectly civil about these things in this forum, so I'll be good. wink

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith
