Topic: Brisbane, Australia progress

Hi Folks,

First, quick question for long-time street teamers, what strategies do you use?  I've put flyers and posters at crossings, taxi call spots outside pubs/bars, bill-poster sites, and university campuses (on the assumption that 17-25yos are the ones most likely not to have planned ahead and will book tickets at last minute).

For other street-teamers in Brisbane, here's what I've done so far.

Guitar shops, Pubs, Bill-poster sites:
- The Guitar Shop, Paddington
- Guitar Brothers, Red Hill
- Guitar Centre, Wooloongabba (this afternoon)
- The Royal Exchange (RE), Toowong
- The Regatta, Toowong
- The Normanby Hotel,
- The Shaftsbury Hotel, East Brisbane
- Paddo Tavern, Paddington
- Bill-posters in St Lucia, Bardon, Paddington, The Valley (this afternoon)

I’ve put them up around UQ campus on the public bill fly areas, outside major traffic areas such as library, bar, refectories, carparks and crossings:

Will do West End, Cultural Centre (around the QPAC venue, Conservatorium of Music, Grey Street), QUT Creative Industries precinct Kelvin Grove on the weekend.

For any other street team newbs out there, Andy said to avoid covering other act's posters as it can generate some heat.  I'll stick to poles and concrete now except for on campus where it's a dog eat dog world.  I need to keep refreshing the Joe every couple of days thanks to militant marxists, socialists, and rave dance parties  :-)

The postcard handouts also slip into the JoeB cd rack nicely at music stores. Tape one to each cd! Stealth tech. big_smile
