Tomorrow night, September 4, going to see one of my all-time favorite musicians Pat Metheny and his Unity Band at the intimate Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. Antonio Sanchez, one of my favorite drummers, is part of Unity Band. Should be sensational!!!

September 8th--Daryl Stuermer, at another free summer festival in Park Ridge, IL. First show earlier this year was great, so couldn't stay away from another opportunity to see him. Plus, it's a Pizza Fest...YUM!
September 13th--Maggie Speaks (local cover band that is very good), at the Berghoff Octoberfest.
September 16th--Joan Osborne doing an acoustic show (billed as an acoustic duo), at a newer venue I haven't checked out yet, the City Winery in Chicago.
Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences. You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway. If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Going to see David Gogo play at an open air fest in the town square of Amersfoort this evening. It looks like this will be the last weekend of warm, summery weather too, which is a real bonus. I hope to be doing some filming with my new super-duper HD smart phone, if I can figure it out by this evening.

My next show will be "Rush" tomorrow in Bristow, VA. The weather is expected to be very pleasent with temps in the low 80's which is great for this time of year.

This could also be Kennys next gig although knowing him he'll probably have another one before then!

Robert Cray & Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the Taft Theater Cincinnati Oh tonight! This will be my 3rd time seeing Robert, the most recent was last September when he was at a small performing arts center at Centre College in Danville Ky with opening act Shemekia Copeland. My 3rd time seeing KWS in the last 11 months and 4th show all together. Should be an awesome show!

Pat Travers this weekend!! Perhaps 2 shows but Sunday in De Bosuil in Weert for sure, hope to catch him at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer as well on Saurday.All in Holland of course.
Last year they had a a great show plus interview for www.bluesmagazine.nl Very nice people.
