Happy Birthday Dear Patty!

Happy Birthday again Patty!!! I say again because we got to spend a good part of last weekend with Patty in Des Moines. Dinner on Saturday and a classic car show on Sunday. It was a blast!

Lots of fun celebrating this time around the sun....Lee & Renee popped in last weekend from Minnesota for a fun couple of days.....great steak dinner with them and a fun day in the sun at a classic car show......never been to one before, but I can sure understand now why people would get hooked on car restoration....some real beauties......Renee's Dad's car was stunning!!!  And he has a great first name "Joe" and the bartender at the restaurant had a great first name "Joe"    there's no escaping it    Even encountered some Joe fans at the car show!  (I would still like to put the pedal to the metal in that cherry red Viper......vvvvaaarrroooommmm!)

Last night had a wonderful curry dish at Jasmine Thai Cuisine with Iowa BonaBuds Dan & Susan!  Loved it so much that I think my son is taking me there again on Sunday! There is something addicting about curry!  It sure was fun hanging with them and just kicking back,  so glad they live close by....so sweet.....I hope you all get to meet them someday!

Ended the evening with my son at The Continental in the East Village of downtown Des Moines listening to my favorite local bluesman, Matt Woods.  Matt is headed to Memphis as he won regional blues competition.....I sure hope he wins......very talented and just another all around great guy......he even did me the honor of playing my favorite cover song by him..."Don't Think Twice It's All Right"  there's just something about the way he does it that is so special......and the downtown night life had some unusual human beings out & about....at one point Matt asked me if we were still on planet earth....  

...and walking back to our car we encountered a skunk running down the sidewalk   EXIT IMMEDIATELY        luckily we could outrun  PePe Le Pew.....

...so anyway I'm sure I have rambled on here much longer than I should BUT thank you again so much for all the wonderful messages.......
