Topic: Australian Footballer dead in Las Vegas

A really sad day, he played for my crosstown rivals but teams are no division here, only a young man, RIP John McCarthy.

Re: Australian Footballer dead in Las Vegas

very sorry to hear this Stefan, another tragic and needless loss with alcohol involved. I'm sure the whole country is saddened. However, I have another footballer you need to follow, namely Jesse Williams a noseguard with the Alabama Crimson Tide (NCAA). He is our thunder from down under, a real beast of a defensive lineman who was moved from DE to nose to start this year. I think he's from Queensland but not sure. He had a concussion last week against Michigan and sat out Saturdays game vs WKU. He'll be back in the lineup this week @ ARK.

It's really sad.

Oh really? That's cool, a friend of mine plays your code (gridiron is slowing becoming more and more popular over here) and he has dreams of moving to the US to play, he's passionate so I wouldn't doubt him!! But great to see some Aussies are doing alright in your game!

We also have a black guy straight from the ghetto of NYC over as an exchange student at the moment, but that's another story!!

I don't think Australian Rules Football is taking off over in your neck of the woods though LOL!

All the best from thundery-down under,

Stefan

Sorry this fellow lost his life.  Like Bama, LSU has an Aussie player.  Brad Wing, Punter.  Amazing player

Re: Australian Footballer dead in Las Vegas

for some reason I thought it was futbol, and not ARF. Oddly enough, I watched a lot of ARF back in the 80's on obscure cable channels, it was very interesting and I could relate to it more than soccor. I remember that the officials had these really funny looking white hats similar to a traditional English policeman's hat.

I naturally love Aussie Rules and being 6 foot 1 I am a decent size for it too! I just need to get fit haha!
The goal umpires used to wear broad brimmed hats but now they simply wear caps.
