Rolling Stones "Stray Cat Blues"
Not sure if it's already been said, but I'd love to see Joe's take on "Texas Flood" by Stevie Ray Vaughan and "Mississipi Queen" by Mountain.
I had another thought today after listening to Joe singing If heartaches were nickels by Warren Haynes.
Warren has another fabulous song, Soulshine. That would be great for an acoustic guitar with Joe's touch.
BOC's "Last Days of May" Guaranteed that if Alan Lanier could bring me to tears on that song, Joe would tear my heart out!
ok..this one is going to make a lot of people either roll their eyes or scratch their heads..but last night this old Elton John song came on--"I've seen that movie too"--and i could just imagine Joe doing a really bluesy version of that...his voice would be perfect for that song and he could add some great guitar licks and give it a great sound. Ok..let the eye rolling commence!
I may have posted this earlier in this thread, I don't remember, but I think it would be cool for Joe to cover a song by the late Sean Costello. Joe thought of Sean as one of the future stars of the blues, but Sean was/is relatively unknown. I think it would be a fitting tribute. Plus, Sean was a Les Paul guy as well. One example, "Anytime You Want":
I spent a rainy day reading through tht topic and love the variety of answers on the topic. How many of us would have answered Prisoner? Joe always keeps us guessing. Here is my two cents worth-first anything from Riding with the King a CD put out a few years back with BB King an Eric Clapton> Next a top five from two of my favorie bands.
Led Zeppelin ZZ Yop
1. How Many More Times 1.Waiting for the Bus/Jesus left Chicago
2.I Can't Quit you Baby 2.El Diablo
3. You Shook ME 3.Blue Jean Blues
4.Travelling Riverside Blues 4.I'm Bad,I'm Nationwide
5.Trampled Underfoot 5.I need you Tonight
I first heard of Sean Costello because of his work on Susan Tedeschi's Just Won't Burn and her appearance with him on Austin City Limits. Not sure Joe's voice could do Sean's work justice, but it would certainly be the sort of cover I could see Joe/Kevin coming up with.
I'd like to see Joe cover "Living In The House Of The Blues", Luther Allison.
The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown) by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, I've always thought Joe would do this well.

Still In Love With You by Thin Lizzy would be amazing.
Anybody mention any John Lee Hooker ?.... Serves me right to suffer, Boogie Chillen', Dimples etc.....
I would love to hear Joe and Beth do Black Velvet.
100% agree with this. Would also like to see Joe do something with Myles Kennedy, that guy can wail.
...next time down the Spud was thinking The Who's Eminence Front would be a good one to receive the Bona-funk treatment ....when they sing "eminence front" ...it sounds like... living in a bus ...well, to me it does!

...nice more recent video of Pete in NY playing this... Joe would rip this apart!

Guys,
Obviously an album of originals is the G-O.
But I'll throw in an Aussie flavour...
Black & Blue by Chain
Bow River - Cold Chisel
Ride On - AC/DC
Walk All Over You - AC/DC
Riff Raff
Let There Be Rock - both by AC/DC
ooooo.... I'd love him to try those.
have a listen and let me know what you think.
And of course 'I Can't Quit You Baby' by Led Zep.

I just feel JB could and would do his songs justice.
Born Under A Bad Sign, Dazed and Confused, Going Down (which Joe already did a scorching cover of at 2010 Crossroads and in the Freddie King tribute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggNY41Vc5yE....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZztYiIqx8XI........I could listen to him play that song all day long), It's Flooding Down In Texas (play it Joe, play it) Rollin and Tumblin, Beck's Bolero. There are so many really.
I don't know if someone requested it, but Free's "Moonshine" would be a killer
