Topic: Bobblehead No. 1?

For those of you lucky enough to get to see one of the fall tour dates, I'd be interested to know if the merch table has any of these.  The JB Store hasn't listed them for awhile, but I remain hopeful of tracking one down eventually.  If they're still showing up on the merch table at the shows this fall, massive quantities of the chocolate of your choice are available in exchange for a small favor...   wink

Thanks, Ron!  My No. 2 looks kind of lonely all by himself atop my Vox AC15...   wink

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

I had heard a while back (I think from Nick) that more were coming and that a 3rd one was in the works.   That was several months ago, so probably best to contact the "store" to see if more are coming.

Update, email sent end of April:

From Darein at J/R: We do have plans on creating a new one which may be available in a  month or so

Me: What about the first one?   Any plans to stock that?

Darein: Yes! We are in the middle of purchasing more.

I'll following up and see what the deal is.

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

From Darein:

We are aiming to release 1 or both of them at the end of October.

So much for "limited edition."

Maybe they never produced all 1000 (I think that was the number) of the original #1's?

I don't think anything is a limited edition anymore...L.O.L

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

I really think if there is such a demand for these things they should come up with a new one.  It says right on the box "limited edition."  You snooze, you lose.  One of the reasons I have stopped buying a lot of things in the store is because there are just too many "things" at the moment.

I think they're coming up with a 3rd one.  Funny, it wasn't that long ago there wasn't enough stuff in the store smile  But I agree, there are lot "things" and if those things say limited, they should be.  Many of us can relate as we experience the problems with the "limited" JB guitars.

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

I guess owners of the first run could consider it a "First Edition" bobblehead.  Sort of like in the book world.  First editions are still rare, and worth more than "reprints"/second or later editions.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

I'm not sure why I'm supposed to care whether a $40 item is "limited edition" or not.  Even if they only make 1,000 of 'em, how much profit would I see if I held onto it for 10 years?  20 years?  I don't have that kind of time...   wink

Seriously, I buy things because I want them, not because I plan to flip them.  Others have a different agenda, and that's fine with me.  Live and let live, says I...

Coach if you read this, let me know if you are interested in my spare number one. I'm happy to wait to see if they are going to sell more but I do have a taker on deck if you don't want it. Its new in box as received. I am mentioning it here mainly in case someone else was wondering.

Jane, sent you a PM...

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

Have to admit, I'm with you, Coach.  I don't get the whole "exclusivity" thing, sometimes, but I respect that others value having something very few people do.  Still, we're talking about a Bobblehead.  Did they come numbered, and with signed signatures of authenticity or something?

And I agree with Jane, not the biggest thing in the grand scheme, after all.

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

FYI, Jane and I appear to have a deal in place, so if any of y'all try to snake in ahead of me to buy her extra No. 1, be advised that...well, that would make me very sad...   sad

I'll update once the transaction has taken place, so the mods can close the thread and/or move it to the graveyard...

P.S. Jane, can't wait to see your NEXT avatar (hint, hint)...   big_smile

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

I'm going to resurrect that thread...I'm getting the error again now, too.  Maybe it's maintenance related this time, but I doubt it.

Re: Bobblehead No. 1?

Tickled to death to report that Jane's spare bobblehead No. 1 will be in my hot little hands very shortly.  Maybe not as exciting as scoring a JB sig guitar, but pretty cool nonetheless...   wink

FWIW, the transaction involved purchasing a gift certificate from the JB Store to send to Jane, and that transaction went off without a hitch (even when I selected the PayPal option, which has been a problem for me in the past at the store)...

Mod(s), please feel free to drop this thread down the Memory Hole...   big_smile
