Topic: BCC Vintage Modern?

I've been watching a couple of Black Country Communion vids on YouTube and noticed, in the background of Afterglow trailer a Marshall that looks a lot like a Vintage Modern.

Is Joe using these now? If so, what kind of settings is he running?

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

Those two in the background are actually part of Derek Sherinian's rig....(I believe for his heavier distorted Hammond sounds?)

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

Hi Dave,

I knew about the Superlead/bass but just wondered when I spotted the VMs there. Their placement does suggest that they're Derek's.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

I'm sure I remember Derek saying in an interview about this new setup...having some Marshalls in there....but a little searching and it becomes a bit clearer.

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

Have never been able to dig the vintage modern amps, I couldn't get a sound with it.

Maybe they work well with keys.

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

I've owned a 2266 for years and it's the amp I keep coming back to. I'm certain it's not for every everyone though - different strokes and all that.

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

I've noticed them in Derek's rig before too. Also in the background of JB when he played at one of Guitar Center's battle of the blues things before, thought maybe he was using one in that particular setup. Personally I've always wondered why he hasn't included one in his main rig since they are easily available and go well with the DSL which is also widely available. I've always loved mine and think they do a nice classic Marshall tone similar to the Beano sound on their own. Yeah they can be a bit difficult to get set just right but always sounded good to my ears.

Oh well, just cause I like them doesn't mean they're for everyone!

Re: BCC Vintage Modern?

This is really old stuff here but here is Joe with a Jubilee and a Vintage Modern that was a rental for the show I believe he said.  BTW thats his 58' reissue that he later put black hardware on and a Bigsby.

Sorry I missed the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyEdUajXBsI

Missing link?

I assume Joe ran the VM like the Jools Holland show? Low Range, mid gain.
