Topic: Egnater Tweaker Opinions

Was seriously thinking about the Tweaker 88 as my second amp to pair with my Ceriatone 255 to get Dumble/Fender/Marshall tones, so I can limit my rig to two head...

Was just wondering if any of you guys have had experience with these amps?

All the best from Aus,

I've got a tweaker 15 combo which is very versatile and does the Fender and Marshall tones ..however with master near its limits it loses some flexibility ..it can also take a range of output tubes without rebiasing

If the 88 is in the same tonal ball park it should be great

thanks Dave!!

From the YouTube vids it appears to bring home the goods...

So the ceriatone is on the way, speaker cab is being built, will order the Eminence Delta Pro 12-a's once I have sold my old amp... Then I will save up for the Egnater!! Gosh I love planning!!

All the best,

Re: Egnater Tweaker Opinions

Yeah tweaker is a cool little amp. I also have the 15 watt version, though in head form. It is certainly loud on its own, but yes the volume on that is only really good until about half. After that it just compresses, gets fizzy and doesn't get any louder. I'm sure the 40 or 80 watt heads will do much better to pair with a 100 watt Jubilee due to volume issues. I've blended mine using both the "AC" and "Brit" modes with another amp but prefer the Brit mode since I can get a good midrange out of it. Maybe you've seen the demos I posted earlier but if not, here is one of my Tweaker and Class 5. You can get an idea of I have it set, if you have headphones listen to it through them. You probably won't have your Jubilee set the same as my Marshall is but just as a reference. -S

EDIT: I also put EL34s in my Tweaker. The stock tubes went bad so I swapped them out. Made a noticeable difference. Much smoother gain and maybe its just me, but I thought it seemed ever so slightly louder. Mainly the sound was the difference though.

Awesome Seth!! That's really cool!! Was thinking of using the tweaker as a fendery/dumbly sound on one channel utilising the gain boost function and Marshall sound as well... Also using the gain boost, it's almost like a 4 channel head!

Will check out the video once I have phone credit!!

All the best,
