Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

a rare sweep of the Nats, we thank you Phils. Braves were fortunate to split the series at SF, on to the Pads now and then LA next. These late games just kill me, I'm used to a solid 7-8 hours sleep. smile

I think your boys may have a tough row to hoe. Pads are playing very well now with a 7 game streak going. I think they may end up being spoilers for the leaders in the race as the season winds down.

Yes, rare indeed sweep of George's team. I took great pleasure in watching Jayson Werth strike out...it confirmed I lost my lovin' feelings for him. lol

I guess we'll see how much the Bravos like to dine on "Beans & Cheese". I still love that tag even though it's passe. Any chance of a throwback night this week Rick???

We love our Friars when it's taco time! They break those unis out frequently. So ugly you have to laugh. lol Randy Jones was at his best in those colors and now has a BBQ stand in the stadium. He does color analysis on the radio postgame show. He had more words about Timmy, not too good. Loss of command causing him to be forced to toss fat ones for strikes and the zip is gone on his money ball. I hope he figures it out because you guys need consistency bad down the stretch. Our homie AG is looking good up the road and glad to be shut of Boston methinks.

Now how did I know that you'd be paying us a visit here? roll

Just joshing with ya.. wink ....a sweep of the Nats is a very rare thing this season, you're entitled to enjoy it! I have to admit that anyone who knew nothing about the game and was looking in on these last games would have assumed that the Phillies were the team with the hot record. The Nats really didn't do themselves justice. On to Miami tomorrow. big_smile

Sorry Tres. We brought in our secret weapon. Young Casey Kelly on the mound and at the plate. Our record 16th starter brought up from the minors makes a pretty good impression. 6 shutout innings and his first hit in his ML debut! lol

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Baseball always gets interesting towards the end of the season when some of the cellar teams come alive!! wink

Tres, I thought it was really classy the way the Giant fans applauded Chipper Jones in SanFran, one of my kids is trying to get tickets for his last game in Philly.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I didn't get to watch much, Casey pitched very well and our bats went dead again, happens way to often. All of the parks have been very gracious to Chipper, he won't feel at home unless there are at least a few boos in that last series. lol The other side of it is they all realize they won't have to pitch to him next season, lol.

Kris has been our best pitcher the last few weeks. Thanks for the heads up, I will get to watch all of it. However, we have to face that Stults guy again, not thrilled about that.

Game starts 330 Pacific, an unusual start time here. I think due to the press conference introducing the new owners. Finally!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Boy, you know you're in trouble when your star pitcher, who has not given up a run to the Fish in 32 innings, gets smacked around the way Strasburg did last night. roll

I think the whole team was shell-shocked. They've been unrecognizable as the team who were 31 games over .500. They better get their stuff together tonight! Very lucky that the Braves haven't taken more advantage of this five game slide.

In a rare moment last night, two soon to be Hall of Famers met on the field as Trevpr Hoffman gave Chipper Jones a surfboard. big_smile A classic San Diego gift. Scoreless in the third.
