Chris Duarte tonight at Darwins Georgia

What a show!

A long time since Duarte played Darwins and it was a great thing. Only $12 dollar admission and I am telling you a cheap price to pay to witness a killer player of that caliber.

No one danced as they seemed content and absorb the sounds. I will say this. Chris has scaled down considerably and used only one amplifier as opposed to using the dozens or so amplifiers he did in the past. I have seen him several times and can testify he was not as loud as I thought it was going to be. Just as well. Cramming arena sized rock into a little place like Darwins simply doesnt work.

Safe to say, Chris probably covered just about his entire discography into his two sets of music and he did not disappoint. Those wishing to see blues rock dished with panache got their wishes fulfilled. Rock, funk, blues, pscyhedelia. It was all there in a nice little package and wrapped with the ribbon and bow that only Duarte can tie.

I hope he doesnt wait several years to come back to Darwins again. He was the best incentive for going out for a night to enjoy a different perspective on the blues. It's not for everyone. It is appreciated by animals who have a twisted sense of adventure.
