Topic: LLWS

The Bay Area is buzzing over the Petaluma Little League All Stars advancing to Williamsport, Pa. They will play Fairfield, Conn. in the 1st round of U.S. bracket play on Thur. to try and get to the "literal" World Series game. Anybody else got a team from your area that made it in? I love watching these games, it's baseball in it's purist form. Well until the adults interfere and try to bend the rules. The kids have Jonny Gomes of the Oakland A's in their corner, he's a Petaluma kid himself.

                                                                                                        Good Luck Petaluma!!!

I'll have to check once the power is restored. We have some of JerryB's energy conservation going on down here. (online with cell modem) We usually have a team that goes pretty far from the county.

Petaluma will represent the West Region. There was probably a SoCal team in the West Regional in San Bernadino at some point, but Petaluma took it all. Huntington Beach won it all last year. Upon further review, SoCal was represented by Orange, Ca. who went 1-3 in the tournament.

Good for Petaluma! I checked and no powerhouse teams from down here this year. Speaking of power, we got it back but I feel for the folks in the back country where it is near 100 because they will be dark until late tonight.

Re: LLWS

I feel your pain, we had a blackout Thur. @ about 4 pm with the temp. hovering around 98. Only lasted for 2 hours or so. I can deal with our kind of heat, but not w/o a fan, and no TV, or no internet.

                                                                                                           Good Luck Petaluma!!!

Re: LLWS

After a disappointing loss Sunday Petaluma bounced back for a walk-off HR win in 8 innings last night to stay alive in the elimination bracket. Tonight they play Conn. again who they beat in the 1st round. In the International Round Mexico has been very impressive with their big bats. Unfortunately their mgr. got a 1 game suspension for not getting one of his players into their last game.

                                                                                                          Go Petaluma!!!

Re: LLWS

I knew we had some hot players locally. Lemon Grove, a suburb, lost in the championship game to Guatemala in the Sr. LLWS in Bangor on the 18th. Hang in there Petaluma!

Re: LLWS

congrats to Petaluma in advancing over Conn last night. Didn't get to watch any since the Braves were on, but it must have been a fine pitching performance.

Re: LLWS

Petaluma now knows they will face Texas to see who plays Tenn. on Sat. for the U.S. Championship. Tenn. just beat Texas in a game that came down to the 6th inning. Tenn. is still undefeated.

I've been waitin' for my Sonoma homeys to chime in! Not just 11-1, they 10 runned 'em in 5 innings. They called the game with bases still loaded. Tenn. again on Sat. 12:30 PST for the U.S. Championship. Winner Sat. faces the International Champs for the World Series Title on Sun. Win or lose, the Petaluma kids have won the hearts of the Bay Area the past 2 weeks! Randy, my cousin back in Cleveland is rootin' them on and refers to them as the Fightin' Chardonnay's!!! I told him Petaluma used to be known as the "Egg Capital" of the world, more like the Fightin' Embryo's, LOL!!!

Re: LLWS

That should be a great game tomorrow, will tune in. I have no connection whatsoever to the Tenn team, so go Petaluma. You do realize they will probably get Japan in the final? They have a couple of pitchers that are virtually unhittable, one of them throws in the 80's.

One game @ a time, but yes, was well aware of that. Japan is one Inter. team I've haven't seen play and was surprised Mexico's bats went silent yesterday vs. Panama.
