Our fav is at #1 cool
I also noticed quickly that Gibson's editors didn't "favor" Gibson players... evenly spread throughout the list...

Yeah but they did put one of their most supported artists at the top... I mean he has at least 4 gibson signatures!!

John Mayer..really? He got famous doing songs for teenage girls...it's almost insulting to call him the second best blues player in the world

Love his stuff from 2009...but nowhere near the best guitarist

Yeah I thought this thread was already posted and had several replies?

Jonny, I assume the "(Trio)" after John Mayer's name is only indicating his playing status when performing with a three-piece in regards to this list. On that note, I'd say his playing is up to snuff. Also the list is for "modern" blues guitarists so again, I'd have to agree he is near the top of the heap with so called modern blues guitar players..at least those who have some notoriety. Even though in my opinion his playing does sound like other famous guitarists, and lacks his own personality, he's still very proficient on the fretboard. (I like his acoustic playing the best myself.)

OK that's cool...I also like his acoustic playing the best..I think that's more his thing than some of the blues stuff he puts out
