What do you think are they worth it?  I'm thinking about going with some humbucker sized p-90's and found our good buddy Phil X finally came out with the signature pickups.  I think they look really well built and are about the same price as a P-94 from Gibson.  I know Seymour Duncan has the Phat Cat for $75, and GFS has the Dream 90 for $30, and the Mean 90 for $35.  Then there is Lollar, and Bear Knuckle pickups, but these are from Phil X!

They are going to be the best around. His live tone is world class...just like his playing.
He only uses one though...he doesn't like the 'drag' from the magnet of another pickup. The strings ring more freely with just the bridge one. Amazing tone tip. If my LP didn't look a dog with just one pickup...I'd do the same.
I'll grab a set when I have more cash...

Re: PX-100 Phil X signature pickups.

I asked my wife for set for Christmas that should give her time to save her money up.   I've been listening to his demos for years now and I gotta say it doesn't seem to matter what he plays he sounds great.  I'm a huge Leslie West fan so I'm hoping this will make that side of me happy.  I had a Les Paul Jr DC at one point with P-90's and I totally feel what he was saying about the clarity about new pickups because that guitar wasn't bad sounding but it wasn't exactly great sounding either.  Do you know if P-90 pickups work better with 250k or 500k pots?
