Negative Senor Beck.  Some of the most pleasurable moments in pro sports for me is when the Cowboys are getting thumped and the camera pans to Jerry Jones who is obviousely PO'd.  I'll pull for the local baseball and basketball teams...but I'm gonna have to live here a long time before I can be a Cowboy fan

I figured that was a given, just pullin' your leg. No love lost down here either. Just watch who you cheer for in the local. Bolts are coming together but that man mountain Gaither guarding our boys blindside has taken up his old tricks. hmm

The Maryland State Health Dept. has put out a warning concerning the spread of rabies after a bat was buzzing the crowd at the Ravens/Lions game last Fri. in Baltimore. Gives a whole new meaning to "Rabid Fans"!!!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I'm not sure what to think of the Bears yet. Possible high octane offense, if the O-Line can provide any kind of protection for Cutler and blocking for Forte.
Heavily loaded receiving corp.
The defense will always be there...although the way Lovie talks about Urlacher being ready for the first game makes me very suspicious. I believe very little of what he ever says, especially when it comes to injuries.

I don't think I'd ever disclosed my allegiances previously. Yes, I'm looking forward to the new season, NFL & College.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Good bye pre-season, can't wait for the season to start next week. The referee situation is a nightmare and is going to impact games that mean something now. Hope a solution is close at hand.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I know the Jets are glad to see it finish. How about my boy Greg McElroy getting their first touchdown of the season, Sanchez and Tebow couldn't get it done and had 4 picks between them. Eagles still beat the crap out of them.

Now, now Rick.  The local media wouldn't touch calling last night's superb warm up " meaningless" if the scoring cleats were on the other, Chargers' feet!  They'd have 'em the Super Bowl before the season started!!! Chargers not that bad likely, but unless they were told to roll over last night, they may not be in real contention for the AFC West.  However, I for one do not put it past the AFC West to have 2 teams alive comes playoffs and the "real season".

The 49ers have a huge problem.  They will really have to watch the overconfidence if they string up win after win like of old....Classic 49er weakness, in my opinion, and scary.  ...But dang, I admit  they looked good last night! lol  Preseason, yes, but as a walk through............

C'mon!  When did referee situations NOT impact gmes?  The thing I believe all fans have to face, given the historical "outrage" about not having and using instant replay "rules", is the criteria for overturning a ruling on the field.  The ruling on the field always stands.  The called strike is a called strike.  If you get sent to the penalty box, it is for a reason.

They are doing a good job.  Good enough.  Great play and game dominance eradicate any discussions needed regarding officiating...that simple.

I lament the wrong calls made in 2 consecutive NFL championship games that sent the Dallas Cowboys to their first Super Bowls, but the calls stood.  There was no instant replay.  The revenge has been Dallas losses in the Super Bowl, and the 49ers perfect Super Bowl record....good enough!  Cannot change the ruling...........unless...blatant fact overules opinion...Of course, that goes for both substitute zebras as well as The Replacements' eventual replacements as well, even with their seniority and labor issues settled for now...Turnovers and penalties and such are mistakes by others at best, or selves, at worst, and if the official rules wrongly (opinion, as far as not overturned by replay evidence), a coaching staff and entire team cannot let even a couple of those unfair incidents determine the game outcome!  Adversity shines up winners!!!

It's all good!  On to a grrrrreat season for all!  Good luck to your teams!!!
