draft night is upon us, but it can be tedious and therefore difficult to watch. With that in mind, a little game to get you in the mood and keep you there. Two ? for any Alabama player chosen in the first round, I'd be goober faced before 9:00PM.

WTH ? I only copied this because it is funny and ended up at the bottom of the last page.

Very funny Tres, except the reference to my Brownies having 13 picks.....it's gotta make a difference!!!!! Or at least I'll be hammered if I play along!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

My cuz says there's serious angst in Cleveland that the Bucs may trade up to 3 to get Trent. He's obviously the Brown's first choice. Can't wait to tune in later. The Dawgs need to fill the void left when the Hilldozer left.

Local prognostication has Chargers with Perry, USC or Mercilus, Ill. Outside guess for McClellan, Boise St. D all the way.

The Browns solved that problem by trading up for the 3rd pick and locking in Trent Richardson. They gave up some of their 13 picks they stockpiled and get to pick again @ 22.

I think you guys are going to be real happy with Melvin. He has had a rap for taking some plays off, but they will fix that mindset in short order. He is a beast, and mean to boot.

All the local pundits had one thing to say Tres. A GIFT! Absolutely the top DE in the draft. They will convert him to OLB to fit the 3-4 and have the pass rusher of their dreams. To quote Smith, "Mean, nasty man with a great motor.. very physical." big_smile

As mentioned on reports coming in on ESPN, San Diego has lost one of it's greatest sports icons rivaled only by the great baseball player Tony Gwynn. RIP Jr., whatever demons drove you to this end will let you be at peace now.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I just read this a few minutes ago on Comcast news...sad day indeed.
What is going on and is it possibly related to Post Concussion Syndrome? At his former position it would not be unusual. Does anyone know if he had concussion issues during his playing days?
Former Bear Dave Duerson committed suicide because of issues with PCS.

I think it has been said no, but I am not sure due to the local clamor and disbelieving grief making a mish-mash out of fact finding at this time.  I would think it more than possible...

He ran his SUV off a beach cliff a year or so ago, saying he fell asleep......then as now, who knows any real, public answers?!

Was going to take a hiatus here but i have to speak about this topic.  I think I understand what was going on with Junior because I've heard the words of the devil that whispers in vulnerable ears.  In the end you have to decide what is the truth and what is evil and find the strength to carry on.

Unless he left a note, nobody will ever know for sure. However it's been known he was having some serious personal family issues lately in regard to his divorce. The media has jumped on the concussion bandwagon, but it's possible nobody will ever know what ended the life of a sure Hall Of Fame football star.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Anybody have any feelings one way or another on the Saint's player suspensions handed down yesterday? I think that Roger has really crapped his pants on this, and in the process has penalized teams that weren't even involved in Bountygate. Vilma's suspension is totally unreasonable. I hope they can get some or all overturned with the players association help, it could turn nasty and possibly even end up in court.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Yeah I'm pissed off that the Browns are being penalized by having to lose Scott Fujita for 3 games. If he needs to be punished, fine him, not his current team. Goodell is going down the wrong road with the way he is handling most of this mess.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

and this from an offensive player no less, reverse bounty? It just confirms the fact that Roger and the entire league know this has been going on for a long time. The Saints are guilty of being caught on tape, that's it period.

Ahhhhh...Football is back... even if it was just preseason.  Watched the Saints v Cardinals last night at the hall of fame game.  Brees looked great in the one series.  Chase Daniels lookd decent as Drew's backup.  Card's have nice players, but no QB.

Love this time of year
