Re: LZ

Thanks. Didn't know the whole show was available. Will bring back memories of a very special night and an early morning flight back to Tenerife where my wife was patiently waiting smile

Re: LZ

I sold my Silver Jubilee and a guitar to buy a ticket for this gig.
I ended up front row...and I can occasionally just see myself.
Very special show for me. Dvd...one day?

Re: LZ

Spent my evening watching the whole of the show, great to see it finallly, was offered a ticket at £500 to go but declined,

Now Led Zeppelin are one of my fave bands ever and grew up on 'em, but that was an awful version of Stairway to Heaven, real bad, but then Kashmir was Awesome and just real Zeppelin at their best plus In My Time Dying and Nobody's Fault But Mine were damned good too .... Thanks for posting
Dave i bet that was one of the best moments ever for ya being front row there .... Kudos

Wow front row!  Holy crap!  David A. On this forum was at the show.  Wish I could have been there.  I have the Third Eye DVD which is pretty good, I'm guessing that is the source (or most) of the yt video.  Last rumor I heard was an official DVD later this year, but wouldn't hold your breath.

Thanks for sharing the link Dave, and super that you were on the front row!  My son won the lottery and it was a no brainer to attend.  The sound was not the best at times, serious feedback and Stairway was not very crisp but Kashmir was to die for, amazing sound, amazing back drop. All in all, very special concert...

Re: LZ

Good Times Bad Times - played one whole-step down, in D instead of E
Ramble On - played one whole-step down, in D instead of E
Black Dog - played one whole-step down, in G instead of A
In My Time of Dying - played one whole-step down, in G instead of A
Nobody's Fault but Mine - played one whole-step down, in D instead of E
No Quarter - played in C minor, one whole-step down from the D minor from live versions
Dazed and Confused - played one whole-step down, in D instead of E
Stairway to Heaven - played one whole-step down, in G minor instead of A minor
The Song Remains the Same - played one whole-step down, in C instead of D
Rock and Roll - played one whole-step down, in G instead of A

Some did sound clunky...and I especially thought that most did not need to be tuned down...but Robert was playing it safe...he was coping fine with higher keys when I saw him in August that year...
Still...one of the best versions..if not the definitive version of Kashmir.

I have some clips that I took on my camera that very few people have ever seen...I may upload them to youtube soon!

Re: LZ

thanks for posting woofy, but I had to abort at about 2 minutes, could not get through the first song. I was and still am a Zep fan from the very start, and this sounds terrible. It is embarassing to say the least. I got to see them on the Presence tour, and not great sound in that venue but it was a pretty good concert for 8.50US. I guess it's good for historical perspective, aye to each his own.

I agree on the sound quality.  I have the show on CD and have not listened to it in it's entirety because of the quality. Hopefully if and when an official DVD comes out it will be much better.  Still an amazing show considering...
