Topic: Egnater Renegade - anyone played one?

Hi guys,

As well as getting myself a new Les Paul in a couple of months, I also intend to get myself a gigging amp.

Thing is, I want to be able to get classic Fender-like cleans when I'm using my Strat and Tele, but then a more Marshall flavoured overdrive when I switch to the Les Paul...

So this amp has caught my eye:

http://www.egnateramps.com/EgnaterProdu … de212.html

It has the "Tube Mix" option available on each channel, so I could set the clean with the emphasis towards the 6L6 side of things and would almost certainly use my Tubescreamer and boost pedal for overdriven sounds on that channel with the Fender guitars. Then on the OD channel I could set it more towards the EL34's for more of that Marshall type crunch...

What do you guys think?

I'm not easily able to try one of these, so it would mean quite a long round trip and I'd like to get some other people's opinions before decided whether it's worth the daytrip and tank of petrol or not!!

Thanks

NB: I'd likely go for the 212 combo or Head + 212 cab...depending on which I could get the best deal on...

I've played one and liked it a lot. They have a lot of capabilities. I own a teaker head which is similiar and love it. All Chinese made obviously but nice amps. Good quality for the money.

Unfortunatelly I don't know it but I have an Egnater Rebel 20 and I love it. It's a very very good amp, sounds marvellous and has also the tube blend option (but it's with EL84 and 6V6).

Mmm, I don't know this amp atall, but I really like the idea of the tube mix function - if it works well that's got to be a great feature that I didn't know existed in an amp.  Thanks for the heads up - I need to try one of those out now.

Its not a bad amp at all in my opinion. You can get some really good cleans out of it and the tube mix can really help you get a wide variety of tones. If youre looking into egnator stuff, you should also check out the "tweaker".

Thanks, I had seen that and the 20 or 30W models would be more than powerful enough for my needs, but they only have the a master Tube Mix where the Renegade has it assignable to each channel separately.

Haven't played that one but played a Tweaker and thought it was awesome!
