Ditto! Never a more deserving champion. Long overdue.

Congratulations Darren Clarke well deserved!
Like Rory, Darren is from Northern Ireland.
Congrats to Darren!
I walked away for a bit and when I got back Phil had folded like the proverbial cheap suit. What I thought was going to be an exciting finish became rather mundane.
I always like it when a friendly chap does well. Congrats to Darren Clarke!

Congrats to Luke doing the money double

The 141st The Open Championship @ Royal Lytham & St Annes, Lancashire, England. kicks off today - the leader board > http://scores.theopen.com/en/Leaderboard.aspx
Rather overshadowed i think this year - due to the London Olympics.
The Open has really taken a back seat this year ... all eyes and the attention focusing on the Tour de France final day in Paris. A Brit is set to win this Marathon race for the very first time in it's history - Go Brad!
The "Big Easy" wins in a wild one!! Scott still has time on his side. Here's hoping he bounces back from this and wins a major of his own.
Yeah, congrats to Ernie, but this was a very tough one to watch...what Adam went through was painful to witness.
He handled the loss with the utmost of class, and kudos to Ernie for handling his win in the same fashion.
I hope Adam Scott wins a big one soon.
agree it was very painful to watch, but Ernie played great seemingly always closer to the pin on his approaches, and finally made the putt to draw to one. Adam showed he is a true professional, I would have been crying my eyes out. Tiger could have been there with them at the end, except for the terrible decision in the bunker that resulted in triple bogey and some errant tee shots.
I know it's about more than money for the elite players, but an $800,000 plus paycheck must be some comfort and consolation, lol.
Thanks Tres, didn't know it was on. Now I'm surfing between the PGA and SF/StL, would rather be working though! This economy is killin' me!!!

Joost Luiten is a regular on the European Tour, but not someone who has ever had a big impact on the game. He bogeyed a few coming home to end up off the pace anyway. Pettersson leads from Noren, Woodland, Fernandez-Castano and McIlroy after Round 1.
Oh..... i've been so engrossed in the Olympics.... i missed this.
1 - Rory McIlroy -13 F -6 67 75 67 66 275
2 8 David Lynn -5 F -4 73 74 68 68 283
T3 22 Justin Rose -4 F -6 69 79 70 66 284
Congrats to Rory & Team GB - bagging GOLD, SILVER & BRONZE! Result

It's that Ryder Cup time again! Bring it on!

Go Europe.
Yeah, bring it on! It'll be a major upset as Europe has a strong team, but it's always interesting to watch this event.
