Topic: Bonnafied!

Hi Everybody! I am new to the forum but a die hard fan of Joe since the John Henry album. I recently saw him on December 15th in Seattle then two days later at home in Vancouver, BC. I got to meet him at the Seattle show and he signed some stuff for me and took some pictures. Super nice guy and obviously just an amazing talent. Popular music is so full of absolute fluff and crap these days it is nice that there are still people like him putting out amazing music along with Robben Ford, Davy Knowles and Henrik Frieschlader.

I just recently got an Epiphone Joe Bonamassa signature guitar that is aewsome. I have changed the pups and am replacing all the wiring and pots then it will be an amazing guitar. I bought the Midnight Blues lithograph so i have another meet and great and will get him to sign it for me. I just had a son three weeks ago and hope he will be as big of a fan of JB as his dad and I will pass the guitar on to him.

Just bought the new album this morning and am looking very forward to the first listen.

Take care!

Thanks! I will. The best albums usually take time to get in to, I am sure this will be no exception. Will probably take quite a few listens like all of Joe's albums or any good one then you can listen to it for a lifetime and never get sick of it.

Yes, different people experience DTTD in their own ways.  I really liked it on first listen, but grew to love it on about the fourth or fifth listen.  It really does take repeated listenings to grasp just how good it is, I think...

Re: Bonnafied!

Welcome to the forum CMB! Glad you found us.
DTTD is a great listen, and like coach says, seems to get better the more you hear it.

Re: Bonnafied!

DTTD is an absolute gem, I find something else to like about it on every play.  And like Coach, I enjoyed it immediately.  It's like a fine wine, IMO.  (Though I'm a beer geek, so maybe I should say a barleywine.)

BTW, I learned to be jealous of folks in Seattle and Vancouver, back when I lived and worked in Vancouver for a year.  Both are really nice, friendly cities, and you get to see great acts in both places.

Welcome aboard the boards.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Bonnafied!

Hello CMB and a hearty welcome to the Forum.  Great to have more guitarists among us!  Congrats on your Epiphone, your lithograph, and your son...not sure in what order they should be!  Glad to hear you're making your devotion to Joe an intergenerational thing!  You'll have fun here!

Re: Bonnafied!

Late to welcome you, but hello. Glad to meet another fan of the one and only Joe B.

Re: Bonnafied!

Driving Towards The Daylight is my favorite of all of Joe's Cd's now, and I loved John Henry. DTTD is such good music. Like the previous posters said, it grows on you the more you listen to it. I have listened to most of it over 100 times since May 21, still love it. Let us know what you think of it.
