I like them both...but I'd take the PAF on this particular comparison...just more tuned towards my ear...
Thought the JB was quite tight and modern sounding and almost too much beef...

Yes the real PAF sounds better to me but I'm sure you could EQ the amp to match the tone from it with the sig pups. In this particular video the pickups sounded similar if not pretty much the same characteristics but like they amp had a blanket over it during the signature parts. Just sounded a bit muffled which I'm sure isn't the case with every guitar or player or amp.

Re: Youtube Review SD Bonamassa vs. PAF Patent No. 2.737.842

Remember that all original PAF pickups will sound a little bit different from each other as they was a person to turn the machine off. So they vary in the number of windings. The JB pickups were made to duplicate a set that are in one of Joe's 1959 Les. They both sound good to me. I think SD did a good job on these.

I just want to know how a micro mini Marshall amp sounded so huge!  LOL

Re: Youtube Review SD Bonamassa vs. PAF Patent No. 2.737.842

If the comparisons were played a few seconds apart and not straight into one another you would almost not notice the difference at all. So really, the Bonamassa pickups are DAMN close!
Plus, a hell of a lot cheaper tongue There are PAFs going for near 10k on ebay!

Re: Youtube Review SD Bonamassa vs. PAF Patent No. 2.737.842

I don't think it was a true 100% honest side by side comparison. I do however like the video's quality and it shows how versatile the SD Bonamassa pickups can be.

Why this is not aged?

Re: Youtube Review SD Bonamassa vs. PAF Patent No. 2.737.842

JB pickups are a little darker... leading me to believe the bridge has lower resistence. 7-8k on the PAF and at least 8k on the JB...
