Topic: What a cranked blackface fender sounds like.

Hey guys I thought I would post a few clips of my cranked vibrolux reverb. Let me know what you think. I've only been playing for two years so take it easy on me.

YOU SUCK!  In a good way.  I was impressed with the phrasing on the BB King Style but after I read you've only played 2 years I've come to the conclusion some people have God given talent and make the rest of us have to try harder.  You my friend have great talent and I'm not sure how hard you had to try to get where you are now but if I was playing like that my second year of playing I would have found a band to play in.  Your pretty great bro!

Ditto. big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Thanks for posting. Very natural feel and phrasing. Keep it up and get out and play. You may have to join a much older band for them to keep up with you though.

Hey Temy,

Nice playing! =-) VERY impressive for someone only playing for two years!

From reading through your YouTube descriptions, it looks like you have also accumulated some nice gear--vintage and otherwise--for someone so young (20yrs old?) and fairly new to playing...  Did you have a family member or someone who is a seasoned musician help you along with your playing and gear choices or are you just very motivated? ;-)

Keep it up! =-)

BB let's the note hang a tad longer. You do have promise though.

Thanks for the compliments guys, they really mean a lot. I come from a family of accountants, so yeah Im the only musician in my family. I'm just really devoted to the instrument. After I heard what Eric Clapton could do on a guitar, I was sold. It sparked both an emotional response and an inner desire to learn, like I had never felt before. I am fortunate enough to have an extremely supportive mother. After about a year of playing, to show how devoted I was to the instrument I applied to  the Berklee College of Music and was accepted. So in return, my mom bought me the les paul for my  birthday. She made me promise to get a degree in something else, before I peruse music though. All the other gear I accumulated myself.

A marketing degree will definitely be of help and something to fall back on if music doesn't.

Liked it!

BB King - i did you have the vol on the guitar rolled off?
The John Mayer stuff had too much reverb on it... but the notes were right on. wink

I've been playing electrics since 1994, and it sounds like you're already as good as I am. So congrats on picking it up quickly. Practicing the right way helps smile I need to be more regimented. haha

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Beautiful tones on that Vibrolux, looks like I need one of those now too!
